I have that luxury vinyl flooring in my 5yo apartment and all I can say is, I can’t wait to get rid of this plasticky cheap looking flooring. It looks bad, and feels bad under the foot.

The hallmark of a flip…gray LVP…no thanks!! As an owner of a 100 yr old home, wood is absolutely the way to go!

I’ve seen modern carpet squares that are cool. You can remove a small 12"x12" section to spot clean. To your point carpets retain allergens but people buy giant rugs to cover their wood floors and never clean them, LOL.

I like the idea of LVT in the house and rugs all over the place. And of course tile in the bathrooms and laundry room. Rugs add so much and can be changed out.

My mum, who suffers from severe asthma recently had the carpet removed from her bedroom and had hybrid stone flooring laid that looks and feels exactly like wood flooring. It’s amazing!! So easy to clean and you can’t scratch it. And it’s not cold under foot at all. The company is called ‘Stone Haven’ here in Melbourne Australia.

    In India is it available?

Shouldn’t the whole house be more or less the same type of flooring? (I get that the kitchen and baths should be different) However, is there a general decorating-rule regarding uniformity in flooring throughout the majority of the house?

The only good thing about hardwood is we had some imperfections (white spots) show up and we were able to obtain warranty money towards cost of the hardwood. The new house we purchased install vinyl.
