What are your thoughts on the shoe cabinets for wet/dirty shoes? I worry that their isn’t enough air circulation to properly dry them out and potentially having to clean mud/dirt out of them.

Great advice. Where I live, no one uses the front door. I have lived in other houses around here–same odd custom. As such, I have a large, useless space. It’s so easy to put "stuff" in, but, as it is visible from other rooms, it really needs to look good. I love your advice, will make it work too.
