Thanks, Kiva. After watching this, I immediately removed the mirror from my dresser, and put my tv on it. My tv was in an “awkward” place before. The room looks so much better, and the tv is now so much easier to watch. You were right. These mirrors serve no purpose.
I use furniture pieces not designed to be side tables. a Bombay chest with drawers in family room is a beautiful statement piece. holds a lamp. drawers store items for the kids. also have a beautiful wood and wrought iron desk for small spaces as my bed night stand. no furniture suites purchased. just pieces I love that fit my design esthetic. makes my home look unique and custom. I love it!!!
For those who love beautiful table lamps, where would you put them, in the living room, if you don’t have end tables?
Your videos are good, but you over explain.
I love the duvet covers from IKEA…. spiritually you shouldn’t have a mirror over or in front of your bed.
Love this channel- so true about the dresser mirror- could not believe how much bigger the bedroom looked after we got rid of it!
I would LOVE a video of where to buy clean and modern affordable floor length mirrors!
You’re right about the floating shelves. What a waste of money. I regret buying them.
Apparently I’m all over the place. I’ve never had a mirror over my dresser. Never been a fan. I haven’t had a coffee table in 10 years, only two side tables … although I’m definitely about to switch those out for a new coffee table and one side table. Also, I love comforters! I had duvet and hated it to bits!
Ugh I feel ya on the mirror thing I just wish I didn’t live in an apartment that decided mirrored doors for the closet were a good idea. It’s weird at night for sure.
You are so awesome! Thank you for your tips in your videos!
Not my Belgian waffle maker though! It’s not going NOWHERE 😂😂
Agree with all thank you
Thanks for the side table tip. Finally I can forgive myself for not wanting to want a side table 🤣
Great video, Kiva!
I love when you do this kind of videos ,thank you for sharing ❤
I really am grateful for your videos and thank-you for sharing your decorating knowledge. I totally agree on the kitchen gadgets. It’s rediculous. I’ve never liked any matching furniture sets living room or bedroom sets that include dresser with mirror attached I prefer things that don’t all match. To me some people just buy something expensive put it in a room and think it looks great just because they pd alot. It just looks like it did in the store. I’ve tried both just end tables no coffee table and coffee table no end tables. I just think it’s a personal preference and depends on space. For me I love just my coffee table. I love both comforters and duvet covers the covers are easier to wash then comforters but more time consuming to put back on there like giant pillow cases. I do love mine but the first time I put it on it wasent easy. Kind of like taking the covers of your couch cushions to wash that’s easy but getting them back on not as easy. I think contentment taking care of what you have being organized and keeping a clean home say alot.
I appreciate that you don’t laugh at every person that has those things. I love your approach. Thank you!
My No.1 duvet tipp: don’t buy the bulky winter version that doesn’t fit into your washing machine. You probably end up hating to get it cleaned each time…
Opt for 2 thinner duvet inserts, maybe even 3 for the winter. The thin ones fit into my washer and are easy to dry on a summery day.
As a commercial interior designer, great video, in fact excellence video. You really did your homework! Great job
A coffee maker is a vital tool for me. A Kitchenmaid? Nothing so much
I have definitely thrown my comforter in a duvet cover but said comforter is also older than I am
To reach my coffee table vs a side table…help! If you’re drinking a drink it’s really inconvenient to put them on a coffee table. Otherwise, you’re spot on.
Great suggestions.
She’s great!
Thank you great information!
If you already own a comforter and you’ve had it cleaned… Consider using it as an insert inside your duvet cover. You can change out colors and it’s not necessary to clean it as often.
I do not like duvets. What a pain. 🙄
Washing the comforter…isn’t that what a top sheet is for. To reduce how often you have to wash the comforter.
It could just be me the duvet inverts never stay in place. They are like removable cup pads in bras. They fold in on themselves. But again could just be me.
Everything I have on my counter is there because I use it daily though🤔 that’s why I can’t declutter it.
Love this! I just bought 3 c – shaped tables from Home Goods 🤦🏾♀️! They will hold a lamp and nothing else. Not multi functional at all ! Thank You for this! Love your videos ! You are so authentic, warm, welcoming, knowledgeable… it’s like we are chatting about Home Decor with a great cup of tea 🙌🏾🙌🏾Thank you again! Keep up the amazing work 👍🏾👍🏾
These were very practical ideas to consider! Thanks!
Please don’t buy a down duvet. Google how they get the feathers. You will never buy another one again. There are other less cruel alternatives.
Love this video!! Let’s be honest I love all your videos, learning so much!!
I like you. So glad I found you.
I am taking a break from packing to spend a week while my place is being totally redone at the low rent for oldies place. It makes me reassure myself to select which go into storage and out or restore and which will just look magnificent useful and what I need. Thank you to My Aunt Advisor tho I am much older. It helps.
Oyy3to
For anyone with asthma…..do NOT do the concrete …I promise u the dust is not worth it.
It’s funny to hear you talk so much about duvets because there is literally no other common option to duvet covers in Germany, where I live
It’s like talking about "you need a sink in the kitchen. You can’t have a kitchen without a sink" well duh
OMG! Now I want to remove my mirrors from my dressers 😬😬 *calls dad*
I like my side table, I’m lazy, when I’m watching tv I like to reach to my side to get my drink, lip balm, place to put my iPad or laptop. We have a coffee table but that requires me to move to reach things. Mine have storage, I keep things I use often in them. I have floating shelves in my bathroom for some decore. I don’t have any in other places.
Me gustaría que tus videos tuvieran subtitulos en español, son muy interesantes!!!!
Ugh…had grey marble countertops installed when I had my kitchen remodeled…2 years later, hello granite.
You can take my comforters, single use appliances and floating shelves over my dead body.
Granted, we use flat sheets. Our coffee maker, coffee grinder and toaster are daily use appliances, as they are for many people. And we work trades and own our house, so finding studs and putting a few holes in the wall is a non-issue for us. DIY creations has a few really good tutorials for making floating shelves that are much more stable than the ikea ones (only marginally more expensive too).
You are awesome girl!
But girl. I CANNOT put the duvet cover back on after washing. I’ve tried many times. It makes me nuts.
Cement and granite are both porous too?
I have or recently purchased every single one of these 5 items and i feel absolutely called tf out by K lol 😂
I messed up bad by getting a marble coffee table .. spent a $$$ and have bad water spots on it. Not functional at all.
This is what I love about different opinions and views! My bread machine is the Queen in the kitchen, yet my off brand kitchenaid will end up in the trash one of these days 😂
