Video was awesome, very helpful. Now that its been installed for about two years and could you use a garage jack for a car?

  4. George Barry on September 4, 2023 at 8:16 pm

I have a lot of wood working equipment that is large and heavy. Could I do 1/2 of the floor, wait 24 hours, move my equipment to the finished floor and then complete the installation?

You have fiberglass concrete. They added in fiberglass to strengthen the concrete.

Love the outcome of the garage floor!

I like the idea of tiles because epoxy "melts" off especially after a long day of driving and your tires get hot. It wears down and heats up the epoxy over time!

I would say, awesome look. Maybe give your floor a little safety by adding a metal pan under the water heater. Great idea since I just got my first home recently. Thank you so much.

11:11 Sedimentary Rocks. Like a collection of dissolved solids in the water system (dirt, clay, minerals, sand etc) flushing your WH once a year can make it last much longer.

Also, you need a pan under that water heater. That would’ve been a perfect time to do it.

12:15 that’s not plumbers putty (I hope) it’s pipe dope.

  19. MannyO on September 4, 2023 at 8:31 pm

Surprised you don’t need to glue it down

Hi! Great job! I was curious about one thing – how much is this floor moisture resistant? I am concerned about driving in in winter or after a rain, when the car is wet or when some snow is brought in on the wheels and other parts of the car. I am concerned of water to go into those crevices when the parts of the floor connect. Thanks!

What happens with the temperature changes from season to season? Winter shrinkage and summer expansion? Did you leave room for expansion with no bubbling or wave formation?

  27. Jonathan Think on September 4, 2023 at 8:42 pm

Aren’t you supposed to elevate the water heater to comply with building code?

What is the texture of this flooring, rubbery, siliconey? I have the large chrome shelves from Costco on castors, would these roll easily? Also a SS table (not anything super heavy on the table) would these large, heavy items roll easily?

I’ve just done some work on my water heater. I’d advise regular flushing (and back flushing – running water from a hose connection up into the drain valve (similar to you using air), and also regular replacement of the anode. I would also advise changing out the plastic drain valve for a brass one – HOWEVER, the plastic one can break off. That will have you with a hacksaw blade to cut it out in pieces. Ask me how I know 🙂

BEAUTIFUL job. Floors like this can improve your life because every time you see it and walk on it there is a bit of happiness comes up to you. I have some of these tiles in black. I stand on them at my work bench. They are solid yet resilient. Thank you for y our video. Do another floor?

If I’m not mistaken, thats chicken hair, they put it in the concrete for it to dry up and settle quicker

  45. Pastor Kelvin on September 4, 2023 at 9:01 pm

I was wondering why you didn’t use any glue? I’m thinking that maybe the car tires may slide it backwards when you’re backing up.

I live in Utah and we get snow in winter, when the snow melts the water and salt will get underneath. Do you know if the material will get damaged?
