  4. Lori Honore on February 12, 2022 at 10:37 pm

I think your expenses are very practical & reasonable with good flexibility. You are so disciplined👍🏾

  5. Genevieve Valle on February 12, 2022 at 10:38 pm

This is my first time viewing your vide. Do you live permanently in the van. Thank you for the breakdown. I know everyone’s budget is different but monthly expenses will be higher lower depending on your living the van life. Thank you.

  6. Anjel Marie on February 12, 2022 at 10:39 pm

How do you support yourself living van life??

  7. another sound on February 12, 2022 at 10:40 pm

never heard a vanlifer mention my hometown South Bend, IN. is that where you are based?

  8. Kerima Brown on February 12, 2022 at 10:40 pm

I think it’s a little high, but you are doing things you enjoy, which is important. I see how you have wiggle room, which is good. Gas is good, because you want to stay safe. Thanks for sharing!

  9. elizabeth morrison on February 12, 2022 at 10:42 pm

Well if you think about it. That’s not a lot because most of us spend that or more on just rent alone😱😱😱😱😱

  10. Taylor Pope on February 12, 2022 at 10:43 pm

I live in NYC soooo that’s about the price of rent alone for a tiny ass apt and this is way nicer than the one you’d be living in here lmao I say this is good

  11. ZeesOutdoors&Adventures on February 12, 2022 at 10:44 pm

I just found your channel I love it but restaurants when u have a van lol.

Thanks for this…it was right on time!! I was just looking up the cost of Van Life yesterday and your number seems to fall in line with most of what I saw. The range was about $1800 to $2200 on average. Actually a lot of the blogs I found did say that van life (RV life…nomad life) was not cheap. For me, van life would not be about low-cost living, but having freedom. Please share more so that folks like me can have a realistic idea of what to expect.

  15. serenityone on February 12, 2022 at 10:48 pm

You ain’t never lied about mother shame! I’m 49 and I still keep stuff from my mother because I don’t want to hear it! 😩

  16. Shaquana Wilson on February 12, 2022 at 10:48 pm

This was a great video. You should do these monthly

  17. YesHappyNomad on February 12, 2022 at 10:49 pm

Omgoodness 💕😂 I relate to you so much. I laughed and said, "I know that’s right" so many times thru this video. So helpful. I just bought my van over the weekend! Thank you!

How do you get your braids done on the road?

  19. Lawrence Louis (DO) on February 12, 2022 at 10:50 pm

incredibly beautiful love your videos be careful

  20. Danielle Rae on February 12, 2022 at 10:50 pm

Food is not part of van life. Food you have to buy regardless of a home or van. Insurance & transportation you have to pay as well in a home. People complain how expensive it is But a home is usually WAY more especially with property taxes. You also still have repairs on a home.

  21. Mary Walls on February 12, 2022 at 10:51 pm

    Great video!

  22. MsDillihaysKitchen on February 12, 2022 at 10:51 pm

Hi. I think that it’s great that you keep track of your spending habits because I don’t!! I really think I’d like to try this way of living if I can gather the courage

  23. charlene dorsey on February 12, 2022 at 10:52 pm

Great info. In actuality, $800 of her expenses were food and $200 were unusual entertainment. It’s really reasonable

  24. The single mom summit on February 12, 2022 at 10:54 pm

My family is from South Bend! Aye

  25. Chandrian Holmes on February 12, 2022 at 10:54 pm

Love your videos and thanks for sharing such valuable information. Definitely things to consider. I think I would like to rent a van a few times first to see if that life is for me before going all in.

  26. beghz z on February 12, 2022 at 10:54 pm

When you start thinking about the cell phone bill and realize something ain’t right, LOL. That’s real.

  27. Kia Harris on February 12, 2022 at 10:55 pm

Thanks for sharing. I would really love a video on the cost of the van, contractors used, and recommendations on must haves to live your best van life.

  28. Miami Florida on February 12, 2022 at 10:56 pm

That’s not too bad! I think you spend less a month. The restaurants and food was your biggest expense. I think you really spend like $600-$1k in actual expenses a month.

  29. Mia Miller on February 12, 2022 at 10:58 pm

I’m going to try van live in 10 years when my last child is grown. But I will keep a budget of 800 a month I will pay only for renters insurance, groceries, toiletries, cell phone, and gas that’s all, so I can save my money for emergency only.

  30. PhillyBoy on February 12, 2022 at 10:58 pm

  34. Savannah Martin Watford on February 12, 2022 at 11:05 pm

What type of job would you need to live this type of lifestyle? I work in an office it would be hard, but I’m loving the idea.

  35. Angel Yvonne on February 12, 2022 at 11:05 pm

Yes we love this! we want more videos like this. My monthly expenses are so ridiculous. I would love to spend 1800-2k per month and still do the girly things I like to do. Thanks so much for posting this, I’m looking to buy an RV in the next few weeks

  36. Poop Scoop on February 12, 2022 at 11:09 pm

U r NOT living in that thing. You youtube "van lifers" are full of shit

  37. J a m i e E v a n s on February 12, 2022 at 11:10 pm

Wow! Your insurance is great! Thanks for sharing… it’s good to know how much the bills will be.

  38. E Hopper on February 12, 2022 at 11:10 pm

I’m seriously thinking about doing this. All my kids are grown. Me and hubby can just live life.
I from Indiana too. It’s weird that your name is my sisters names. I love your layout. Maybe in the near future you can help design mines.
Listening to your final cost is a lot to me. I would like to but your total is a third of what I spend now. I thought it would be cheaper. I will research more. And I subscribed.

  39. Sgt. Dum Dum Dugan on February 12, 2022 at 11:13 pm

TBH , the more I look into Van Life the more I begin to see its not for me . CAMPING , MAYBE ….but not full time nomading . I am gonna build a big " tiny house " about 800 sq ft and be done …..I can garden , I can build , I can have animals .

  40. Yartharah on February 12, 2022 at 11:13 pm

It would be a lot lower if You want it to be You are living the good life Enjoy yourself while you can

  41. Thomas Williams on February 12, 2022 at 11:13 pm

    kinda sorta 💲

  42. Nancy Ulloa on February 12, 2022 at 11:16 pm

Just found your channel I’ve been spending the last 20 years planning a life out on the road when I retire. I retire in 3 years and I probably won’t spend that kind of money eating out…. but you cannot feel guilty about sharing and enjoying your life. If this is what you want to do with your life that’s fine it’s nice to see it was cheaper than I thought. l like how you talk and communicate. I’m probably the age your mom and this is not a(in your words black mom thing) the side eye. I was raised by a white mom and definitely know that there was a definite stare that she would give us. (that was too funny)it me laugh …because I know the eye thing is real.. lol. I thought you were amazing and so beautiful inside and out….thank you so much for all your tips!

  43. JustAGrl007 on February 12, 2022 at 11:16 pm

Thats higher than I would expect for van life bc I live in a 3/2 house and mine are less than that. But then again you are traveling and I’m stuck in a spot. I tend to spend more money when I’m traveling than at home. But its probably as you mentioned bc you eat at restaurants often. If I’m spending money eating out I’m not buying groceries lol bc they just go bad. OAN I’m so happy to see more black ppl living mobile lives! Once I figure out the income side I want to do this by 2023!

  44. Wilson Boyz on February 12, 2022 at 11:18 pm

    “I like to eats” 😂😂😂

Yes it is what it is. Thank u for being open and honest. This is perfect research, it’s real. I’m wanting to do this. It’ll help with my self journey in finding myself again. So thank u for being real👍❤

  47. Carlette Williams on February 12, 2022 at 11:21 pm

I am retired, however my concepts about life are updated.I think that van living is an adventure, or even a way of life for those of use who love travel. However my concern is about safety. Is it safe to travel solo in a van, also what safety precautions are taken…

  48. KK Harris Namaste on February 12, 2022 at 11:21 pm

Her expenses would have been lower if she didn’t spend so much on food but honestly would she be spending even more in an apartment? The best thing is that she gets to travel all over the place.

  49. Harlemknight on February 12, 2022 at 11:22 pm
