    Goodwill is my favorite store😍

You have a cool house. Mine is mostly a hodge-podge of 1940s – 1980s items. It doesn’t have that look of one period which is nice and all put together. Since I buy what I can get/afford at country auctions, it just evolves.

This was a great vid. Of course you have a Bettie Page tattoo, you’re awesome.

I absolutely love the head vases!! I’ve actually wanted some for long time,Β  but they’re pretty expensive where I find them. Were your’s very expensive?

  5. Nelli on July 18, 2021 at 3:11 am

Beautiful DΓ©cor! I like mid century also. Speaking of ashtrays (good idea on using them for treats), I collect the metal souvenir state ash trays.

You talk too much & we dont see anything from your decor, but we see your face!
I came here to see a vintage decor and not a woman talking bla bla bla !!!!!

people may find this gross but my boyfriend and I ALWAYS go dumpster diving. Pretty much all of our vintage furniture we’ve found in the dumpster and just refurbished them. We’ve even found a piano by a dumpster… and all the keys work! It’s crazy what people will throw away!!

I know this is an old video but i just stumbled upon it today. i work with a woman who has 100s of those head vases (she says) so i was wondering how much they are worth. this lady is in her 70s and could probably use the money (if they are highly collectible)

I am so upset. I had an antique mall close to my home , and just as I was about to purchase something there – they closed down! I’m so hurt by this. lol

  21. Amelia Kennedy on July 18, 2021 at 3:22 am

Also! Beware of lead paint! Especially if you have little ones or pets! Lead tastes sweet, which is why kids and pets will lick it- ancient Romans used lead to sweeten their wine (explains a lot, right?) Get lead test kits off of Amazon or a hardware store. This is especially important for anything that will touch, or cook food. Vintage cast iron is usually ok, because the heat that is necessary to melt iron will cause lead to become a gas and dissipate.Β But glazed cast iron is not! Those ceramic paints contain lead, guaranteed! Don’t use old aluminum cookware either, it isn’t made as well as modern cookware and will release a lot of aluminum molecules into your food (linked with Alzheimer’s). You are better off steering clear from anything vintage which has an actual, tangible purpose- unless you will just be displaying it. Don’t rely on vintage items to cook your food (antique cast iron being the exception), support your weight, clothe your body (not always, but vintage clothing is usually very fragile), or entertain your children. Better safe than sorry, and I have a vintage decorated home myself.

Hi, Cherry. I was just curious and wondering if there is like a community online for collecting and talking about all things retro? It would be cool to connect with others with the same obsession.

  27. Vera Calvin on July 18, 2021 at 3:25 am

been scrolling through. would you mind indicating which video you made the bookcase ? trying to find it would love to view it. thank you!

  28. Danyele ! on July 18, 2021 at 3:26 am

Another place to find fantastic vintage/antique items is at estate sales.Β  Keep in mind that many antique dealers will show up early (before the posted sale time) and negotiate to purchase the entire estate, so it’s to your advantage to arrive a few minutes early.Β  And also, be respectful to the seller.Β  The family selling from an estate has very likely lost a loved one very recently.Β  I get so upset when people at estate sales are overly pushy and disrespectful to the seller(s).Β  Anyway, hope that helps someone and happy hunting! πŸ™‚

  29. Numinorieo on July 18, 2021 at 3:28 am

I was wondering if you would mind if I got a pin up tattoo of you? I just think you’re so pretty and thought I would ask first. It may not happen for awhile but if you say yes then ill be sure to take a picture of it when its done or even come to a meet up and show you since I live in southern California too. πŸ™‚

We have classic movie theater themed living room, all horror of course! We have framed movie posters such as Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, etc. We also have butter and popcorn buckets as decorations, and a large vintage movie reel replica, and more. We also had rope lights around the floor but they kicked the bucket πŸ™

  32. Yaelra R. on July 18, 2021 at 3:32 am

Make each room a different theme. I had an Edwardian bedroom, a 20s bathroom a 50s kitchen and 40s living room.

Awesome tips, I am on my way to having a retro home. BTW I am on the way to a 50s atomic look. Lowes brought back the Sputnik Chandelier.

  42. Nehemiah Rodriguez on July 18, 2021 at 3:47 am

Modern era is what look you are presenting. Contemporary is the alternative. Example: you have Contemporary furniture.

spaghetti westerns were started in the mid 1960’s. producers started making movies in italy because it was cheaper than in the US. they dubbed in the italian actors voices. clint eastwood profited by making them.

  46. Jay Becker on July 18, 2021 at 3:57 am

How does Trevor feel about you decorating the whole house? As the 50s style contains lots of pink shades and is more on the girly side… I love the 1940s art deco style, but I`d love to have a pink bathroom and kitchen. My boyfriend and I are planning on moving in together but unfortunately he isn`t too fond of my decoration ideas… πŸ™ any tips? And I loooove your channel!!! πŸ™‚
