Iโm getting a HUGE makeover soon (basically all furniture replaced, repainted walls) and Iโve always been really bad at decorating but since Weโre in quarintine I thought that since Iโm going to spend my teenage years in my bedroom I might aswell make it something I love and where I feel comfortable

My problem is is I like the light and airy look while my fiancรฉ wants dark colors ๐ฅฒ
When choosing curtains: Keep in mind the environment (climate). For those in Cali and Florida light airy treatments make sense. But in places where the weather drops significantly you might want to choose layers or thicker curtains. They can help keep heat in and cold out. You may want to do one layer of light curtains with a top layer of thick curtains so when the weather is okay or the sun is out you can enjoy an airy esthetic but still have a thick curtain layer for when the temps drop. Always keep in mind where you live when designing just to save yourself a headache. Sometimes keeping the ceiling fan option but changing the blades or buying a newer modern one could help you in hot weather. So just be mindful of the weather when making design choices.

Thank u for these tipps! I don’t have that design eye that you mentioned haha but I’m moving out soon (first time). My Problem is I can’t imagine very well how furniture will look in the room and how they combine with other furiniture! I dont want do buy the wrong thing so I’m always scared and can’t commit to a style or pieces that I like

It’s so funny i found this video because im having trouble with my green lime mustard colored curtains. I want to incorporate them with my design but at the same time i cant see it working out with the style i want. Its making me go crazy! I’m the type that likes to use what you have and recycle.
