Learn how to install vinyl plank flooring in a bathroom that looks like ceramic large format tile. Vinyl plank flooring bathroom installation is an easy process you can do as a beginner installer and only needs a few tools. The flooring is waterproof and will not let any water pass through the seams. With some caulking around the tub this should help prevent any water seepage from normal bathroom usage. It is a floating floor though, so take that into consideration as if the room floods there is nothing to keep it from going over the edges of the flooring. It’s a great looking floor and nice and warm on the feet.

  4. Bryan Hedstrom on June 8, 2021 at 4:43 am

I have a small step by the tub, should I use a tileset for the side of the step?

  5. Ozkr palminteri on June 8, 2021 at 4:44 am

In my opinion never install your subfloor with nails, there’s a big chance they will come loose in a few months, alway use screws.

  6. JV - on June 8, 2021 at 4:44 am

There was ceramic tiles for a reason and not vinyl

  7. Tim Lange on June 8, 2021 at 4:46 am

No concern of the toilet and cabinet stopping the floor from expanding/contracting and causing buckles?

  8. T M on June 8, 2021 at 4:49 am

Does anyone know What program was he used to measure the cuts and placement?

  9. Will Kildare on June 8, 2021 at 4:52 am

Hello Sir… That was a pretty good video-class. I was just wondering which software did you use to lay out the tiles?

  10. DDm on June 8, 2021 at 4:53 am

Hey, why did you not paint the subfloor with a waterproofer?(it looks great by the way)

  11. BigMacBook1300 on June 8, 2021 at 4:53 am

    Great job👍🏿

  12. Dk Sid on June 8, 2021 at 4:54 am

Putting non water proof underpayment plywood beneath waterproof floorboards is a bad bad idea. The joints are not 100% air tight, water can get in a damage plywood.

  13. Daniel Nehme on June 8, 2021 at 4:54 am

    Thank you

  14. Bonnie O'donnell on June 8, 2021 at 4:55 am

I just watched a video yesterday that said u do need an underlay even on those. So which is it?

  15. Joseph Smith on June 8, 2021 at 4:56 am

Is there a reason why you don’t show the tool names? Besides free advertisement.

I really love sound of the mallet tapping the vinyl. I always look forward to it haha

  24. clvokoun on June 8, 2021 at 5:09 am

What is the software or program you used to arrange the plans? Great video. I’m in the middle of our guest bathroom reno. Fun times!!

  25. Mimi Healy on June 8, 2021 at 5:13 am

How did you waterproof the flooring against the tub?

  26. Roy Saxton on June 8, 2021 at 5:13 am

    air chisel

  27. Lars Sweede on June 8, 2021 at 5:14 am

Nothing like getting rid of ceramic tile for cheap vinyl. Definitely a millennial remodel

  28. dabney offermein on June 8, 2021 at 5:14 am

Great Vid. What a job this was. I have a bunch of corners in my bathroom, 10 sides total which makes me cringe at what is before me. it’s 49 sq. ft. so yea, it’s not huge or anything, just a lot of complexity… (Floor vent, 10 different sides, toilet, cold water supply, etc.) UGH !!!! *)(&*&##^@)*(&# What to do…. How much does Home Depot do this type of work for ? I’m in midwest. thanks for the video and I’m going to have to watch your video about 3 times more before I dare start ripping up the old linoleum flooring.

  29. Tyan i7505 on June 8, 2021 at 5:15 am

Is there a glue down version of this?

  30. Tall Girl Model on June 8, 2021 at 5:16 am

Nice video, thank you so much, we are going with the Salt Throne Marble to make the room a little brighter 🙂

  31. JB on June 8, 2021 at 5:17 am

Can/should you do something like a rubber waterproofing paint if you lay directly on subfloor?

  32. Jonathan G on June 8, 2021 at 5:18 am

Wish we could see the final bathroom

  33. J.E. Sunseri on June 8, 2021 at 5:20 am

After paying a drywaller too much money to do a lousy job, I thought I’d lay the floor myself. At least that way I won’t waste thousands of dollars blaming someone else.

  34. 12345sneik on June 8, 2021 at 5:20 am

    what about waterproofing?

  35. Brandon Jarc on June 8, 2021 at 5:22 am

    Complete rookie

  36. amatrice band on June 8, 2021 at 5:26 am

Why did you use a plywood underneath ? I thought u do it for tiles. Can’t you just use the vinyl on underlay on subfloor ?

  37. Mia Honey on June 8, 2021 at 5:28 am

Just put the vinyl over the old floor. Easy.

  38. Luis Guzman on June 8, 2021 at 5:28 am

Why did you remove the tile in the bathroom and not in the laundry room? Anything to consider?

  39. esmokebaby on June 8, 2021 at 5:29 am

What about concrete just level and add a vapor barrier

  40. DrPepperJunior on June 8, 2021 at 5:29 am

i woulda slapped some redguard on that floor before laying down the vinyl as an extra insurance policy.

  41. Glenn Nelson on June 8, 2021 at 5:30 am

What is the 3D modeling program you are using? Thanks!

  42. Markus Lawson on June 8, 2021 at 5:31 am

Drop the turkey baster and use the shop vac

  43. Bear Schmidt on June 8, 2021 at 5:31 am

The tool used on the ends of the tile , is called a END BAR.

  44. A M on June 8, 2021 at 5:35 am

Why on earth would you replace tile with laminate floor? It’s not even close….

  45. ebay seller on June 8, 2021 at 5:35 am

ok so no underlay required for anywhere in the house I guess? looking to install these in my living room..

  46. NathanielH on June 8, 2021 at 5:37 am

Is it okay to put the vanity ontop of the floating floor? It seems the general answer is "no", but I dont see how this is any different than having couch or tv stand or any other semi-heavy object on top of it.

  47. Grinding Bubba-Jay on June 8, 2021 at 5:37 am

What is the name of the 3d modeling software you mentioned?

  48. a hadi on June 8, 2021 at 5:37 am

    Need premixed grout very important

  49. glenn aylward on June 8, 2021 at 5:37 am

It the toilet or anything else in bathroom leaks it will go right through vinyl to sub floor and then into basement. You might as well just used carpet.

  50. Cristian on June 8, 2021 at 5:38 am

    Brad,
Let me start by saying – great content. I’ve learned a lot from your videos, keep making them.
I like that you are very detailed when you are describing your projects.

I’m installing Vinyl flooring in my basement and I need to figure out the best option to lay down the flooring.
A piece of paper and a pencil does the job but, a 3D modeling program will help a lot.

    My question is:
What 3D modeling program are you using?

    Thank you.
