Do you have a video on vinyl on steps, nosing? What holds it in place?
    Thanks

This looks like laminate, not vinyl.

i would have really liked to see the starting row and how you lined it up straight.

My vinyl flooring says to not use tap blocks or normal tools that other laminate flooring uses or you will void the warranty. So i came to youtube to see if there were any tips and hints and every one is using tap blocks.
Oh well…back at with tap blocks i guess.

I have a very old carpet in the room I’m planning on installing VPF. The carpet is flat, maybe 8mm thick overall with no give, and it’s glued down. Can I simply use this carpet as the underlayment since it’s flat? I’ve read not to use this over carpet but it seems like the reasons not to don’t apply to this thickness and material. Also it seems like a nightmare to try to remove from all that glue.

to many unhelpful tubers..be it your a professional or not.

I think a lot of people neglect the proper attention and patience when installing these. It seems like most negative reviews of these products are related to bad installation techniques and rushing through it.

Hey, I have watched your videos about flooring and other great stuff.

I want to replace my bedrooms carpets with Vinyl or Hardwood floor. I am kind of confused what should I opt for. So many videos are about Vinyl plank installation.

I have also watched your video about comparison of 3 types of floors.

Is it really easy to install vinyl plank by myself ? I.e as easy as your videos. Haha

Please need your suggestions and help here.

I need some advice. I got this flooring from Sams Club. https://www.samsclub.com/p/select-surfaces-farmhouse-rigid-core-vinyl-plank-flooring/prod23981749?xid=plp_product_10. The website says I need at least a 6-mil poly film between concrete and ground. I feel like this is overkill. I’m installing over concrete in basement. Thanks

Yiu need to use a Rubber mallet….people who see this and dont know better will destroy their planks, especiallly if they use a framing hammer.

  12. James Johnson on September 5, 2021 at 11:21 pm

What if you run into an uneven spot in the middle of your floor after you’re halfway through how do you repair that to make it even so that your planks don’t sag

  13. Nich Steele on September 5, 2021 at 11:23 pm

LifeProof says to connect them in the direction you already had. I’m struggling to stick that bottom edge under the top one atm.

Thanks for posting but I think your mom is looking for her hammer 😏

Is it better to remove tile that is poorly laid rather than install this over the top? Would it be possible to level this floor on the tile if we left in place? Also, how would one go about not having a drop off transition where the bedrooms which are carpeted are?

  16. Chris J on September 5, 2021 at 11:27 pm

Do you always need underlayment or some waterproof layer under vinyl plank?

  17. Kristy Lu on September 5, 2021 at 11:29 pm

Hi, if we install VP over hardwood floor (they look very bad, but too much to remove everything), how can we do at the step nosing which run on the hallway of upper level? We want to leave the stair as is just need to stain, but entire floor of living room and upstairs hallway will overlay VP. Any suggestions if removing hardwood is not an option? Thanks!

  18. Siobhan Hitchcock on September 5, 2021 at 11:31 pm

Thank you! You’re right, instructions are good but seeing someone do it is better! My husband and I are going to pull up the carpet on our living room and put down vinyl plank flooring. Someone said I need to get a mat or something for underneath it. Do I? Does it just depend on what type we get?

  19. Ross Zirpoli on September 5, 2021 at 11:32 pm

That product is shit. I install for Home Depot in Florida all they’re vinyl plank. They’re beat vinyl plank floor is life proof. Definitely would not recommend home decoratikns

  20. Angela McFadden on September 5, 2021 at 11:36 pm

Should I remove the engineered hardwood that is down before installing this? It has had a few patches of warping issues from water damage? Also, is there anything I can put under this (installed on main floor) to help with the loud sounds in basement from walking, moving chairs etc…

  21. Lance Dagys on September 5, 2021 at 11:37 pm

should this be installed after baseboards are installed. ?

  22. eatfatlivelong 1 on September 5, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Use a rubber mallet for God’s sake! It’s a finished floor not OSB.

  23. Carl Smith on September 5, 2021 at 11:40 pm

I’m installing this flooring in a bathroom. How do I get around the toilet?

  24. Chris Topher on September 5, 2021 at 11:44 pm

if you used a steel hammer on my LVP i’d be showing you the door real quick! you never heard of a rubber mallet, huh?

Good info, but I must admit I’m unreasonably annoyed by your starting of with the implication that if I don’t have a table saw to make that custom block I’m screwed.

More great tips. What are your thoughts about underlayment?

  28. Jasmin on September 5, 2021 at 11:49 pm

I prefer the vinyl from Allure which has an adhesive tab.. no need to be banging them together.. they go very easy.

  33. Jonathon ober Jonny ober on September 6, 2021 at 12:01 am

Simple and to the point! Good video! I have a dirt floor I would like to do that to can put that on plywood & or a padding? Instead of going threw the concrete pouring ..? its for a friend trying to do it on a budget. Tnx

  34. Aleshia Garland on September 6, 2021 at 12:02 am

Did you lay this flooring on concrete? If so did you prepare the concrete in anyway?

  35. eagleman0977 on September 6, 2021 at 12:03 am

When you put the shims on the sides when you remove them won’t the floor move?
