I think european and american "small" is very different. Small is "fit a couch and a tiny table tv on the wall" and their small is like our open floor apartment 🤣🤣. Anyways good video.

I really don’t like the look of the curtain rails too high for the windows and when woodwork is painted the same colour as the walls. It looks unattractive to me and like the painter didn’t care about looks.

The problem I have with taking furniture off the walls is lighting. You can’t have a reading lamp beside the chair if the cord has to stretch 4 feet to the wall to be plugged in.
I like the tip about the wallpaper. I’ve read everywhere that to make your space look bigger is to have all white walls, well I do and my space now looks bigger but boring. I was worried that putting up busy wallpaper might make the room look more compressed.

Thank you for all the great tips! I am doing a light renovation of my bedroom. Currently the three walls are beige, ceiling is white and the accent wall is a dark red. I love the vibrant dark teal colour and I am not sure whether to paint all walls with that (as all walls have windows and fourth one is filled with wardrobe cabinets), or do only the accent wall and keep the rest white or even try a wallpaper design with that colour. I was given 2 big oval mirrors. They don’t have frames though. Just a beveled edge. I’ve never hung them up because I’ve felt they would look better with an interesting frame or something. Any ideas on how to diy frame big oval mirrors?

From my own way of living I find only buy premium quality furniture to begin with. Yes it is expensive but it is designed more efficiently so it usually takes up less visual weight. Second only buy dual purpose function. If it does nothing don’t buy it. Ornaments are clutter.

We have a 2900 sq ft house, but the biggest gathering space is kind of small. Or maybe our family of 8 makes it feel small. So, it’s hard finding enough seating for our big family that follows your tip against big heavy couches. 😔

great hacks! I like your examples! light furniture, light painting make the room look bigger too! But as you said painting one wall in a different colour, or having one colored spot is a good hack too!
I don’t even have that much furniture. All I have is:
My daybed
A bedside table
A toy box
A chest of drawers
A tv
And a filing cabinet for my computer tower.
I think I need to watch a UK version of this because these rooms are big
