How We Installed Waterproof Laminate Flooring & Stairs, Completed Laminate Floor, DIY Guide, Ideas!!

How we installed laminate flooring and stairs, this is water resistant not waterproof laminate flooring. Besides the laminate flooring we also installed wood stairs with iron balusters. These wooden steps were stained to match the laminate flooring and will last a lifetime. This is a job reveal and is part of are Tims Tours series of completed jobs. Great for flooring ideas and pictures of flooring.

Welcome to the world of Jones Knows! If this is your first time here, my name is Tim and I’m a flooring contractor, along with my 2 sons, in Florida. I know, I know I don’t look old enough to have sons old enough to be working with me, I can’t believe it either! I promise I’m not breaking any child labor laws they are both over 18!

In this video, I willgive you a tour of one of our recently completed jobs. We installed 1700sf of Hydroshield Waterproof Laminate flooring over tile/marble flooring in all living areas as well as kitchen and baths. Yes, bathrooms, since Hydroshield is safe to install everywhere! We also created a custom modern looking staircase with stained solid oak stair treads. For the stair railing, we used simple but elegant modern posts, stained hand railing to match the steps, and black satin iron balusters. We then finished the whole job off with new 5180 5 1/4 inch baseboards. In the doorways that transitioned to other flooring we used modern metal trim that is small and doesn’t create a tripping hazard. No t-moldings were used anywhere in the making of this floor. Lol. I hate t-moldings and run all my flooring continuously into rooms. Of course, the job isn’t complete until we create the exact same look in the dogs house as well!

You can use Woodglut and plans. The best plans and very detailed instructions. You can learn a lot from them and do it yourself.

I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.

I have a question. I want to put the life proof in my living room, dinning and kitchen. However we have stairs that come up into both the living room and kitchen, is there away to achieve a flush look with this life proof on the stairs? So we don’t have trim pieces on the top that go into those rooms?

Hey, why u don’t cut laminate under the doors? It’s risky u know

Since you need a .25” gap for laminate, how does that work around the staircase? It looks like there was no quarter-round to bids a joint. In my case, I have a double sided fireplace in the room with tile that is at floor level. I would prefer that it would butt up against the tile without the need for a trim piece, but I’m not sure that’s is possible. Please help!

For warranty purposes on hydrosheild dont you meed t-trims or some type of dividers in doorways or is that only for a certain size doorway? Or is it not needed at all? Sorry for the question i just watched anoter video with contradiction info.
