IKEA Desks & Office Makeover
I paired together two Ikea Linnmon desks to create a corner desk in an L-shape in my vanity room/office. I love my new l-shaped desk setup, not exactly an IKEA hack but pretty cool regardless. Go IKEA and Craigslist! I think this room makeover is quite the transformation. I’m pumped to have so much storage in my office now for storing PR samples and makeup. Sorry for the squawky camera mic, I whipped out my old Canon Vixia.

Nice setup. However that will sag over time.
I’ve seen a few IKEA hacks that have tables with corner extensions in them, but what I’m wondering is if there is a possible hack that would allow a desk arrangement like this without the leg in the corner. In other words, you could have the computer in the corner and be able to turn your chair from side-to-side to access other tools or equipment (having an open place right next to the ‘puter to sign documents, or a place to operate a scanner or printer or other devices) Do you know of any?

Hi, I saw another comment in which it says the tabletop does not attach on the drawers. Is that true? Does it just lay on it? Is not moving? A guy complains about the moving

04:30 you can see the two surfaces aren’t aligned. Did you think about raising the legs so that the two of them match?
This is what I am wanting to do in my art/craft room! Wow.. I was shocked to hear that you sold the mattress! Here where I live you can’t resell a used mattress because of bedbugs!! People are to scared and they are bad!! You can’t even donate a mattress!! I have had 2 mattress’s over the years and thankfully I was able to give them to someone who needed them so they didn’t end up in the landfill!! Thank’s for sharing your room set up!
In case you haven’t realized yet, the desk legs have slightly adjustable things at the bottom to even out the height of your desks. I wish IKEA had "tall people" and "short people" legs … I find their desks a couple of inches too high for me. I think they were designed for men! (just noticed that someone else pointed this out … and that your legs aren’t the kind with the adjustment on the bottom)

Love how you reclaimed an under-utilized space and made it into something new and great for your needs! Neat how you have so you can get yourself all made up and check your e-mail at the same time. Have you thought about incorporating any of the funky smart lighting or any of those other features into this setup?

I like the look. My only problem with those Limmon surfaces is the gloss finish. I don’t want my work surface reflecting light from say a desk lamp into my eyes, as I’m trying to read or concentrate on something.

Your office come vanity room looks great. I am curently in the middle of using the Linmon 1500 x 750 table top, a Kallax shelving unit and an Alex 5 drawer unit. Space is limited in a 8ft square room but once completed it will make a great workspace for my photo editing and kids homework.

I just took the plunge and ordered this stuff and put it all together this passed weekend. I’m in love!!! I got two table tops and two alex drawers sets and 4 legs. One of the tops was $8 which is awesome! I love the way it turned out. I use it as my desk and crafts desk.
Did you find a way to connect the two tables to make the L shape or are they just pressed against each other?
