IKEA Square metre challenge part 1: Tiny bedroom for two

IKEA Square metre challenge part 1: Tiny bedroom for two

We challenged ourselves to make a tiny bedroom for two because more people are moving to cities and renting small apartments. In part 1 of the series, we show how multfunctional, moveable and layered solutions help create smart storage and open floor space. We even made a platform bed using kitchen cabinets for tons of storage.

It’s as big as my bedroom, but I have a double bed and along the long wall I have a long desk that goes from the door to the window and I can’t remove it, what do I do someone please do this scenario,

  2. Dreamscape on May 19, 2021 at 3:29 am

Wait, don’t u need to drill holes for the knobs to go on the wall?! Or r u jus using double-sided tape?

  3. hannah on May 19, 2021 at 3:30 am

I’ll be honest, I really wouldn’t mind living there

Even Ikea is hacking their own furniture. I don’t understand why they don’t just sell platform bed units as high as the kitchen counter, since people clearly like to use these platform beds for storage. Or at least sell their kitchen counters in an affordable set that can be easily assembled into a platform bed. They’re missing an opportunity here.

In what universe is this room a "square meter" ? this room is at-least 2×2 meters which is 4 Squared Meters but comparing it to my own bedroom I am more convinced it’s 3×3 meters or 9 metre squared.

  19. Emily on May 19, 2021 at 3:48 am

They actually did a really good job in designing this. An emphasis on function

  23. Ayeato on May 19, 2021 at 3:55 am

You should have taken going up to your advantage, use a bunk bed and then you have space under neath

  24. El Gaauur on May 19, 2021 at 3:57 am

Shouldn’t a couple never have their bed on the corner? That’s so inconvenient.

Door entrance is where ur head is… Thats bad feng shui 🤔 but otherwise handy

  36. Umaru on May 19, 2021 at 4:10 am

Look this looks horrible and very claustrophobic for me like my room is smaller than that but it looks very spacey. Why use a big ass bed when you can put a multi purpose bed that can turn into a sofa and stool for hang outs. Or put a study table that also has storage to be used as clothing storage. Get that ridiculouse very cluttery looking garment rack and switch it with a multi purpose shoe and garment rack. And those hanging thing on the walls make it look soo messy. You can also go for plan B which is the bunk bed which you can replace the under bed with a study table and storage (reference to a whisker away bed). Just add a multi purpose cabinet with a shoe rack and done. No claustrophobic experience.

Can we stop with "tons of storage"??? Just have less stuff already

how do you get up the bed 😂 I would have to leap up there

  42. Maria Mihaela Iamandi on May 19, 2021 at 4:15 am

Well, this is a big space compared to how I have the bedroom, which is already occupied with all kinds of openings, as it "banged" in the heads of the architects who did not think about the ergonomics of the space!
    I mean, they’re, … architects!?!

  43. Zaiya Fine Art on May 19, 2021 at 4:17 am
