I disagree with the eye level art one. It depends on the height of the room. If the room is 8 ft high, you likely won’t want your art to be on your r eye level. It really just depends on the person and the room

I guess we all choose when or where to choose design over function because designers ALWAYS say not to put furniture up against the walls but when there’s JUST enough room for dogs to run.. people to dance etc…I personally can’t imagine covering the middle of the room with furniture, it would drive me crazy.

The biggest mistake is letting people like this stifle your creativity by letting them tell you what the mistakes are. Decorating is an art. There are no mistakes. It’s all subjective and depends on the person. I find that all gray and white room a mistake. Obviously she doesn’t.
I put all my furniture all the way against the wall so kids can have bigger space to play😿
