The paint colour in Dining area – is it stone, taupe or something else? I’ve been looking for the name for a while. Can you help?

Do you have any tips for using brighter or darker colors as the 30 and 10%? I love the look of neutrals and white but I really want a darker color to ground everything and a brighter color for my accent.

  7. SHENELLE WALKER on March 5, 2021 at 10:55 pm

I love your videos and I am watching this because I came in my brand new open concept house in 2017 and paining the majority of the walls a soft hello and one side of the wall a dark orange (rust) and the walls at my bar dark brown. My couch is dark brown. The house if very dark in the center. I want to redo the living space should I repaint? I have kids and white walls isn’t the best for me. Should I keep the rust and just paint over the yellow a neutral color. I like the idea of an accent wall. Thank you !

  8. Vivian Wheeler on March 5, 2021 at 10:56 pm

Hi Sarah, do you have the wall color names you can share?

  9. Michelle Rose on March 5, 2021 at 10:58 pm

  19. Valerie Francis on March 5, 2021 at 11:12 pm

Great video! I have a huge problem picking a paint color for my walls because my furniture is dark brown and I can’t get rid of it. How do I pick a paint scheme if my furniture is brown? My style is Farmhouse so I have a lot of white wash and light woods. My home is an open floor plan with the living room, dining room and kitchen all open. It’s difficult to pick a paint color for my cabinets and walls so it will all be cohesive! Help! Any suggestions would be helpful! Thank you!

  23. Jojo M on March 5, 2021 at 11:13 pm

This has helped me tremendously! Thank you! Our walls are white (60%). Our large entertainment center and coffee table are black (30%). We’re looking at large art prints of the ocean. Would bright blue through off our color scheme?? Thanks in advance!

  24. Robert D on March 5, 2021 at 11:13 pm

My color palette is apparently orange tabby since I find it everywhere!

  25. Nikki Hunter on March 5, 2021 at 11:15 pm

How do you feel about the open living spaces having a monochromatic gray-blue-black but then making the master suite a more romantic palette of gray-emerald-maroon? Basically, Is it ok to change color palettes for different parts of the house that are closed off to each other?

  26. Deepak Bhakoo on March 5, 2021 at 11:15 pm

PLEASE make a video on how to choose flooring and what type of furniture, door colours etc goes with it. It is driving me nuts. 🙂 Thanks

  27. Kendra on March 5, 2021 at 11:18 pm

My have a 60’s ranch with mahogany trim and doors. Red oak hardwood floors which are light. A mauve, oyster white and blue rock fireplace in one room and a red and orange brick fireplace in another room. Do I use a red tone in my palette? Or do I stay away from it. The house currently has peachy colors everywhere. Thanks!

  28. Marcia Grossman on March 5, 2021 at 11:19 pm

    White, grey and cranberry

  29. Beckah Grant on March 5, 2021 at 11:20 pm

Hi Sherrah. I’m Beckah and I noticed a bag or tote in çream n taupe Kinwoven Colours. And it says Kinwoven on the front of the tote….can I buy one. Love these small totes for my summer purses.

  30. Louis Fresta on March 5, 2021 at 11:20 pm

What RAL code are you using on your walls? I want the same thing O_O

  31. juan pablo cervantes on March 5, 2021 at 11:20 pm

    isn’t white neutral? lol 0:41

  32. Jenna Sandland on March 5, 2021 at 11:21 pm

Why does Sharrah list two colors per section, eg.
    cream + tan= 60%
    peach + cognac = 30%
    sage green + black = 10%?
With that chart at 3:45 with “+”s, it looks like two colors together make 60%, 30% or 10%
I thought she said to choose ONE neutral base/primary color,
ONE secondary and ONE accent color?? Any thoughts?

  33. Fiona FYR on March 5, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Literally blown my mind with this video thank the lord I have finally got direction for my colour ideas – Thank You!!!

  34. Jennifer Simpson on March 5, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Does anyone know if black counts in the 60/30/10 rule? I just painted the walls gray and I’m in the process of adding new sofa in gray, 2 chairs in navy and a cream rug. These 3 colors are all present in my throw pillows and blankets. My colors are 60% gray, 30% navy and 10% cream. But…I have black accent furniture here and there. I’d like to think of it as a non-color. 😉

  35. Lauren Potts on March 5, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Your videos are so helpful and knowledgeable! Watching your videos makes me feel like I’m taking an interior decorating course and i love it, thank you!

  36. Octavia on March 5, 2021 at 11:26 pm

My home is rented I want to decorate but don’t know what’s acceptable I don’t want to ask them because they are nasty on the phone sometimes

  37. Holly Would Wear on March 5, 2021 at 11:26 pm

My main colors are white, gray and navy blue in all rooms except for the kitchen, and then there’s a secondary color so in my bedroom it’s burnt orange and the living room it’s pale pink. The kitchen is white and gray and with a pop of teal. But it all goes with a picture in my bedroom that has all of those colors in it

  38. Reid Harris on March 5, 2021 at 11:27 pm

    Dope video !!! SUPER HELPFUL

  39. SweetPotatoPie on March 5, 2021 at 11:28 pm

You may have good ideas but since you talk like you’re "Chatty Cathy" it’s hard to understand what you’re saying. What a Valley Girl..

  40. Christina A on March 5, 2021 at 11:31 pm

Where can we watch videos of other people’s homes you updated?

  41. Amanda Barbera on March 5, 2021 at 11:31 pm

Hmm…I went bolder. I have an green accent wall that ties in my honey colored cabinets and dark floors. I love it but how do I work with this?

  42. Cala Ferraguti on March 5, 2021 at 11:32 pm

    Navy and tan

  43. Andrea Cáceres on March 5, 2021 at 11:34 pm

Great video! Thank you, it was very helpful

  44. s l on March 5, 2021 at 11:41 pm

I’ve finally realized my accent color is probably closer to 25% and I’ve been toning it back and it looks so much better!
My colour palette is white and light grey, birch/light oak/light rattan, sage green, soft light blue, and a touch of greenery from plants that are of a lighter tone/not too warm toned. I live by the beach in the pnw and took inspiration from that.

  45. june corriette on March 5, 2021 at 11:42 pm

For my home I’m using the Dominica flag. How do I used all the colours

  46. Debbie OHalloran on March 5, 2021 at 11:42 pm

in a modern/traditional home do you think you can use light beige and light gray as your neutral if they are in different rooms?

  47. Samantha Stewart on March 5, 2021 at 11:42 pm

I love this video! I’m moving into a new home and this was such an inspiration for my colors. Right now I think my neutral is grey and my secondary rose gold. I’m not sure if rose gold should be my accent and I should pick another secondary color? Any ideas for a third color?

  48. Mariette Brouwers on March 5, 2021 at 11:43 pm
