Interior Design — How To Decorate A 2-Bedroom Condo For Under 10k
Discover how designer Natalie Chong furnished a young couple’s two-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $10,000. Get her budget condo decorating ideas for adding style and personality to a space, while creating a gender-neutral design aesthetic.
Natalie kept function and finances top of mind throughout the design process. She painted the bottom half of the wall in the long entryway in a durable dark navy hue as a less expensive (and non-permanent) alternative to wainscotting. In the living room, a rug acts as a room divider between the kitchen and dining area. Despite the small space, Natalie was able to fit a six-person dining table and a pop-up desk in the corner. A black wall in the hotel-like master bedroom offers drama, while mini dressers work as night tables with ample storage. The guest room will be a nursery one day, so Natalie kept the design simple and used affordable pieces that can easily be replaced.

Why is necessary to have a so heavy&big dinning table in a so thiny space ? Are they receiving guests 335 days/ year ? Or just 30 days/ year ? She say it. " We can squeeze 3 people on the bench". Key word " squeeze". A foldable table , seems to me, much more appropriate for a small place. You can use it when is necessary, but that allows to keep the space & flow open.They have a only 3 places sofa &one armchair to sit , but a 8 places dinning table. Go figure !
I just don’t like the black lampshade on black wall in the master bedroom. Maybe white lampshade for color contrast.Other than that, you really did an amazing job.
This is good. It doesn’t look cheap even though it was on a budget. That takes skill.

FINALLY!! I’m a 35 year old male and I’ve spent a week on youtube looking at interior design ideas as my wife and I look to re-design our living room and dining room. Everything skews female and I was looking for something more gender-netural and this is jackpot!!
not a fan of her work when all put together, but in many cases the individual pieces are so great.

Everything is nice, except for the bed. That’s a small bed for a couple for me. I’m single, and I prefer king sized. Haha.

This designer is such a little snob. "I was given ten thousand dollars …. and that is practically nothing." What a terrible dig at her clients. They deserve better.
