Interior Design – How To Use A Statement Rug To Transform A Room

H&H‘s Joel Bray and Jennifer Koper display the transformative power of statement rugs. See how they created three different looks, each with a different rug as the focal point.

Joel and Jennifer chose three gorgeous rugs at the Weavers Art showroom in Toronto that each offer standout style underfoot. The first has a painterly pattern that’s bright and cheery, the second is more muted and brought to life with black and neutral accessories, and the final carpet has a traditional pattern modernized with a contemporary palette.

Earthy rugs. There are strict lifestyles if not strictness.

I thought number 3 was the best because using that on you didn’t have to change the curtains and it all tied well together

The 1st one is the best, it is easy to the eyes. The second one is sucking all the light in and make the room darker. The 3rd one is for grandma.

The pillows in the last one seem to compete to much with the rug, I think using gypsy / indian patterns in some pillows would have been better to give that gypsy/oriental look.

If something more simple was intended, may be more textured/ furry pillows with neutral colours and simpler ones with solid colours and blankets with oriental patterns.

Wow what a great team! I am buying a $47 rug – free shipping and it’s not wool nor silk, but it’s similar to the last rug’s pattern, very boho.

The Tabriz one is actually Indian rug weaved by kashmiris weavers and they are really underpaid for the amount of work they do.

You taught me something, I just bought a rug like the first one you called spring that has like an optical illusion, depending on the light it can look lighter or darker I wanted the darker look because of the color of my furniture but didn’t know I could change it by just turning the rug in a different direction so I did it worked, so excited thanks a bunch !!!!!!!

I love this channel! Thanks lockdown for the introduction. However, honestly when native English speakers butcher the language, it’s annoying. There was far too much “kinda like” instead of being specific – which is the purpose of the channel after all – and more edgier is horribly grammar! Either say, “It is more edgy” or “It is edgier.” Goodness, why can’t Canadians speak English?

The last one, more warmer, inviting, cosier"and even though I was going to buy similar table, to me this table gives off ‘vibes’ sharp pointed edges, it looks like danger," and I think if not immediately,, in time our body senses, danger, we get rid of,

  46. Ra Clarke on February 8, 2022 at 11:11 pm

1 cause it looks like my rug !

  47. Homa Mousavi on February 8, 2022 at 11:12 pm

    Love 2 and 3

  48. Que2 H. on February 8, 2022 at 11:12 pm

Whew! Yes, yes, yes ! The Tabriz is the winner. I was holding my breath because the first two ( albeit this video is 4 years old when I’m watching it)…were meh 🤷‍♀️but everything has started to go so trendy to the "cool" vibe . A traditional type rug will always stand the test of time.

  49. KAKERON KAKERO on February 8, 2022 at 11:14 pm

    only persian carpet

  50. Norah Al on February 8, 2022 at 11:15 pm

Wow I never thought I’d love the traditional one as being an Arab I grew up with massive traditional carpets all over the house and got over it- but omg the third one was so nostalgic of home and felt so warm!
