INTERIOR DESIGN Ideas and Tips for a JAPANDI Home Design

INTERIOR DESIGN Ideas and Tips for a JAPANDI Home Design

In this video, I will present to you the “japandi style”  interior design trend.  I will share with you 6 tips on how to design a space with this interior design style. I will talk about the color palette, furniture, materials, and some ideas to design your home like a pro with this hybrid style.

Many of you ask me if you can mix and match different styles. In fact, sometimes two interior design styles are better than one to create a perfect balance.

Japandi is the fusion between the timeless elegance of Japanese aesthetics and the modern Scandinavian style. It’s a hybrid style where two different styles act together to create a perfectly balanced space.

I hope you’ll enjoy and use this information to create a comfortable and stylish interior!

3:59 not to be a know it all here but while showing bonsais inside is always pretty, they do not belong in the interior of a home. bonsais do not like dry air and they also do not like constant room warm temperatures.
just putting plants because they look good and fit the japanese scheme is a bad idea.

Hi!! I loved the video, what are some paint colors you could suggest for a warm open feeling like seen in Japandi style?

I am in the middle of interior designing our house and I am really leaning towards Japandi style. We live in Japan and so we really want a more modern and softer look. Good thing nowadays a lot of Japanese Furniture shops are offering lighter colored furniture and nordic style pieces. But achieving this style needs a serious budget I must say.

  18. JP on November 7, 2021 at 11:18 am

I’m not a designer in any way, shape or form… but I was curious when I realized the similarities between the two aesthetics. Google it and… it’s a thing! They are actually combining the two now. Kind of proud to have thought about it independently (too). This is how my dream house is going to look like!

I love traditional and zen. Is it possible to combine? They are opposites

  26. Tin G. on November 7, 2021 at 11:27 am

Is Japandi the same with Korean-inspired rooms? Whats the difference between these two from the Muji design? So curious.

  27. Mom Pearl on November 7, 2021 at 11:29 am

As Japanese I did not that style.but that style is very impressive!!

Most of hoses in Japan are smaller than other countries one so we always consider how ppl make their rooms look bigger and feel comfortable to live. So they think ‘simple is best’ anyway I really love that style again!

    Thank you for sharing it!

  28. skaterfugater on November 7, 2021 at 11:30 am

i am fairly sure that the music is chinese. so showing the japanese style while playing this is …. well you know :/
    but i might be wrong.

  29. The writer is watching on November 7, 2021 at 11:30 am

What type of flooring if you are allergic to most rugs?

  30. Sara Nox on November 7, 2021 at 11:30 am

I naturally achieved the Japandi design, I eliminated all tall furniture in my room and stick to simple designs to make it appear bigger and lighter, I like natural materials and muted colors ( I like some stronger colors like yellow and teal but they somehow feel off in this room, might incooperate them once I got multiple rooms to design). I am learning more about interior designs because as a minimalist I am now really enjoying the creative process of decorating my space, (I used to avoid any unnecessary items and clutter but I eased up on the minimalist label I put on myself as it felt imbalanced).

  31. Asri Yuledyane on November 7, 2021 at 11:32 am

I think I have found a perfect way to combine my boyfreind’s interest in Japnese philosophy and minimalism and my taste for dark and neutral colors, bringing nature home, while living in Scandinavia (We live in Oslo) <3

Wow, cool videos. Thanks for the inspiration. Am working on the interior design for my new home, and japandi style is my pick. Thanks!

  48. Jim Loree on November 7, 2021 at 11:48 am

My personal style tends toward Janpandi. I’ve found it very approachable both aesthetically and financially having just a few key design principles and offering lots of furniture to choose from at affordable prices. Plus the hygge factor makes it friendly toward pieces you may already have and love. Frankly, the hardest part is keeping it simple because simple is never as easy as it looks.
