Definitely grandmillenial
Decluttering is good advice all the time but especially for the japanadi style. Does anyone have a favorite way of decluttering? I’ve tried the Marie Kondo way,but it didnt help too much!
Who makes the decisions about decor trends — when they are going out, what is coming? How do we combine glam, comfy and rustic? Who can afford to continue changing styles? Beige/neutrals have been popular for years so how can the gray neutrals be "out?" I do not understand that concept yet the majority of homes I visit have some hue of beige walls and have not heard that beige ever went out of style.
Grandmillennial all the way 💛
French and or European provincial, American Folk. Not new
I NEED THAT DIVIDER AT 9:28!
Fast forward January 2022: Japandi! What were we thinking! So bland and boring and depressing!……
I don’t care much for trends but naturally my room is somewhat japandi already. I live rather minimalistic and most of my furniture are hand me downs or picked up for free, they suprisingly fit some of the trends mentioned in the video.
I am learning about different interior design styles because I really enjoy the creative process of designing and decorating. 🙂
I really enjoy your use of elevated vocabulary. Words above a third grade level. How refreshing
not to be talked down to. Rare and appreciated.
The trend went from French country to farmhouse to cottage core. These all seem to be almost the same. Just a few simple changes in pictures, pillows and accessories and I’m done. I’m glad I like this look.
Thanks for adding the historical origins of each trend. I love that you take time to identify a trend and tell us about how they came about! My favorite style is the streamlined Japandi trend with a panfusion of midcentury modern furniture and Greek/Roman art flair.
Finally a home design channel talking about cottage core. This can have a lot of overlap with vintage farmhouse, and even boho, so I wasn’t sure why more people weren’t talking about it.
Cottagecore = updated farmhouse
Farmhouse had iterations in every era, it just gets updates. So for now it’s out with shiplap and word art kitch, in with Modern British cottage!
cottagecore is pastel farmhouse
Why is it called Japandi when a lot of the pictures shown I’ve seen Korean homes adopt way before it became trendy?
There is a tendency for me to lean traditional, but I also like the cottage/farm style. Combining those should not be too hard, but I’m probably wrong. 😅
Thanks so much for watching! What is your favorite Home Decor Trend for 2021? Let me know below!
Thinking about how I can do curved 80’s furniture, black and gold chinoiserie chic, and full on wabi-sabi all at the same time 😅 I don’t know if they match haha
So much great info. You have really helped me a lot as I am doing a very large remodel. Thank you so much
Look into gothic revival
Team japandi even though I am living the core farmhouse rural life
NEW SUBSCRIBER ……I MUST HAVE TAKEN 50 SCREEN SHOTS. Great!
So how did I go CottageCore without intentionally doing so? Lovely video.
favorite is a combination of modern and Japandi. i LOOOVVVE things super plain and minimalist, no layering of throws or pillows, no wicker, chintz, or dried flowers, LOL. Everything behind closed doors with no clutter or fluffy decor just for decor’s sake, it all has to have a function, and if course look good too. ‘Beautiful functional’ is my inspiration. Ikea and Home Depot 🤣 are pretty much my favorite stores.
Not a fan of round edges or mid-century modern… I’m about plain, square, and rectangular all the way. 😁 Also love monochrome with some varied texture to save it from being too austere… I find a simple, somewhat plain space soothing and relaxing.
Ah what if I like color? I’m tired of mid century modern lol
So many practical and beautiful items illustrated in an impressive way of presention 🙂 Subscribed 😃!
Me looking around my space looking for the round corners trend and surprised how many decor items I have. Great video!
So pretty much the old old is the new old.
Great vid! Mauve is pronounced mahv, not mohv.
I think your perspectives are spot on. What about fabric window treatments, aka draperies and roman shades. I am starting to see more fabric and less blinds and plantation shutters. Thoughts?
I have traditional furniture and want to blend it into a modern farmhouse new build. I love grand millennial and cottage core. Do you 🤔 think it’s possible??
You’ve got me thinking about how to transition to japandi while keeping budget at the forefront. I’m currently mid century modern , so my sofa is not rounded , most items are more angular ….I guess square . Anyway great video !!👏👏👏 so informative and not too long.
Thanks for ideas, yet the most beautiful homes are not trendy; they are an organic extension of a creative personality.
Definately Japandi. Request you to kindly make more videos on this subject with choice of tiles, bricks, furniture etc
cottagecore is pastel farmhouse
When I think cottagecore, I think anything jane Austen. Just lavender everywhere! Lol
I love that you are talking about appartments and not only about big houses
Good information
Ok, LOVED this video! I love little bits of both trends, but with a more romantic / modern twist.
Marie Antoinnette ended up becoming an important figure in the Headless Casual trend
I waited so long that my home is back on trend!!😂
I love modern farmhouse with rustic and boho accents.
I’ve rarely ever followed a trend. I’ve successfully avoided having any gray in my house. The one thing I succumbed to was the tiered tray on the table thing. But the clutter was just too much and I got rid of most of it.
