It sounded like he was trying to say 4 or 5, 6hr driving days.

  4. John Hill on July 29, 2021 at 9:23 pm

Up here in Massachusetts the KOAs we have seen were pretty low end camp sites. We avoid them at all costs. Having your kids with you while camping with give them life experience and values you wont get in the public school systems. Your treatment sounds absolutely horrible

    1. When I drive cross country. I always do 8 hours driving…any more than that will make you very tired and cranky…As for the KOA issue…get hold of KOA HQ !!! The camp managers have to adhere to KOA policies…I had a minor hassle with a KOA in South Florida due to a child issue…I pointed out in the KOA manager’s Book, he MUST adhere, or be hearing from KOA HQ and my law firm…I was following the PGA Florida circuit..lasted almost one month !!! Had a blast…the KOA manager ignored me the rest of the time…the rest of the staff were great…Went back a year later…he was gone and replaced…sometimes prayers are answered….

My uncle lived in a HOA area, in a trailer that was not movable. The policy was clear for that area: No one getting a lease for people under 55. And that would almost certainly mean no children. And frankly, I would be fine with that.

    FL here.
About 2+ years ago I lived in Apopka.
The traffic is hectic & gets worse the closer you get to Orlando & Kissimee.
It can be expensive to live there.
There are a lot of job opportunities though.

  11. Shawn Smith on July 29, 2021 at 9:31 pm

I lived there for 2 years. But i had my own lot and payed lot rent but i do know you can rent for 2 weeks a camping lot for your rv i don’t know if you can do longer now

Campgrounds never change! Look at the reviews for campgrounds in seaside oregon you will see the one with the worst deserving reviews. Nasty owner
I went 20yr ago it was crap and 5 yr ago the same. Never again. Mean nasty woman running the place.

  14. TheCoinmancer on July 29, 2021 at 9:34 pm

I remember when I was a kid my family went traveling to arizona in an rv and every campground we found said "no kids" my impression was people in AZ dont like kids lol

Wow. Pretty high standards. For Florida.

  18. William Leoppky on July 29, 2021 at 9:45 pm

That’s not cool but I guess it is their right? I’m not sure how that works where you are but I would sure as hell expect them to advertise an an adults only camp if they do have that right. If not, they should be reported. And with all die respect I would have loved to see a shot of the grease stain they had issue with. You are correct in that the table looks like something I would cover to sit on and eat on. I would love to see what kind of a massive grease spill there would have to be to justify knocking on your door… I am on your side based on the other comments validating your story with other negative reviews. Alternativley the more info the better to “extinguish” ideas of obnoxious unsupervised kids and a quart of oily grease on the seat bench.

Personality disordered people. Very common especially in the south. That’s why i am moving north lol

  21. Mick theDAWG on July 29, 2021 at 9:46 pm

u asked abut fire extinquishers–I might be a tad anal about this but I have 6 of em. My rig has a drivers door, one right inside there behind driver seat. Its a bigger one I can get to from inside or outside. One inside the normal door atached to the wall behind the recliner-also can get to it from inside or out with just opening the door. Then I have 4 of the smaller throw away after use ones. One in the bedroom one in the back compartment passenger side compartment. One attached to the roof of the water compartment right in the front of the gen set, driver side rear and one mounted under the front bumper bottom.

It’s cute to hear Rv’ers travel miles. My wife and I do 1200-1400 a, day every day. It will be nice when we slow down

  23. corey Babcock on July 29, 2021 at 9:48 pm

I gave that location a bad review lol

  24. 1MillionMileRoadTrip on July 29, 2021 at 9:48 pm

Wow. Who are they to decide what is good for my children? This is crazy

  25. Linda Buck on July 29, 2021 at 9:51 pm

KOA’S are bad period too many problems too many franchise owners think they’re hitler! And super negative mental issues with neighbors in monthly. I’m never recommending them. Sorry you experienced this. I grew up with an aunt who owned an mobile/RV park who was spotlessly clean, uncommonly kind patient and accommodating, at all times. She also ruled the roost, with a firm stern hand suffered no fools, and RARELY had to remove someone, but did HERSELF 😝😝😝 so I’m spoiled by integrity, respect for others, and CARING 🙏🏻❤️ happy travels, even if you stay put, but look who I’m talking to. 😃❤️👍🙏🏻

  26. Valerie Angeleigh Lewis on July 29, 2021 at 9:52 pm

Wow! They actually said that? Thanks for the warning. I wouldn’t doubt that they call CPS on you next just because they are "concerned " about how you are raising your kids.

  27. John Bjorkman on July 29, 2021 at 9:52 pm

We’ve found KOAs to be great – in general. But there have been a couple that supposedly rated "President’s Award’ that were terrible.

  28. Leah Valenzuela on July 29, 2021 at 9:53 pm

I think in Fl it has more to do with pampering the snowbirds than raising kids on the road. They just dont want kids making noise or running around. At least in my experience

  29. Marie McAllister on July 29, 2021 at 9:53 pm

I worry for you I don’t know how the school system was in Colorado I had two children in the Florida school system and it was horrible I mean downright horrible you might consider putting them in private school if you want them to really get an education

  30. corey Babcock on July 29, 2021 at 9:54 pm

The Winter garden FL area is trash trust me on this Apopka too go to Jacksonville or clearmont

So funny I stayed with my kids in Dec 2019 for 4 days. I was not impressed with the place and I’m originally from Orlando.

  36. Dos Bros Southbay on July 29, 2021 at 10:03 pm

That’s crazy KOA’s Main thing is being kids friendly we went to Arizona one and they were so great about it And it was super fun and nobody went even passed our picnic table. Great video btw

  37. bluehors3 on July 29, 2021 at 10:05 pm

Not a good environment for kids?
We home-schooled our kids while full-timing.
They met hundreds of people – kids and adults. They learned to interact with adults since they were young.
Those places that most kids only learn about from history books – our kids have been there.
They’ve swam in both oceans – and the gulf.
Jersey shore, San Diego, both sides of Florida, NYC, Grand Canyon, on &on.
We came off the road when they were high-school age, and college.
    Back out here now.

  38. gidget red on July 29, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Class action! Discrimination. It’s not a 55 plus KOA

  39. Sharon Lain on July 29, 2021 at 10:06 pm

I had no idea that RV parks do not allow RVs 10 years or older. My son-in-law was given a 2000 40 ft RV with 2,000 miles on it. It is in mint condition. Not a scratch . Everyone is loving the retro vibe it has.

  40. Westtexasdave on July 29, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Sounds like the owner is a jerk. I’d be looking for a new place. I didn’t like how you guys played the victim roll so much however. You sounded like Democrats.

  41. 1MillionMileRoadTrip on July 29, 2021 at 10:09 pm

We travel about 3 hours a day. Love the short drives.

  42. Shawn Smith on July 29, 2021 at 10:11 pm

One big problem with moving to Florida that Colo doesn’t have, Hurricanes.

  46. corey Babcock on July 29, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I’ve traveled all over the southern us since 2016 and plan on doing it as soon as it cools down more

  47. IslandGal 500 on July 29, 2021 at 10:16 pm

It is a silly rule of not allowing families to stay a month or more, especially those in a transition move, but then every campground has its quirky rules for a reason. If you don’t like the rules at a particular place, fortunately those camping can pack up and move on to a place with no rules, or ones that fit.
Campground owners are often more rigid than employees. Anyone working with the public have had their fill of high maintenance customers doing as they please instead of following any of the rules. It gets overwhelming in that they feel that customers are in control and owners are at their mercy. There are things that need to be done at sites to clean up and prepare for the next guest and disregarding the rules, like leaving well after check out time, is extremely disrupting. The anger builds up and then the managers/owners get really grumpy and seem unreasonable to the relaxed types that occupy campgrounds.
Large campgrounds really should designate an area for those with kids and another area for older folks who want the quiet. I realize that is not why they don’t want kids staying longer at this place, but it would be a solution for the large places that cater to seniors.

  48. Guy on July 29, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Although I wouldn’t pull my kids out of school mid-year and attempt to raise them in an RV, if I were the campground owners, I’d take the money and let people make their own child rearing decisions.

  49. B Miller on July 29, 2021 at 10:18 pm

I missed it. Did you have to leave right away? Or could you stay for few weeks, leave and come back? Where did you go after bring kicked out?

  50. Zombie Raccoon on July 29, 2021 at 10:18 pm

You should have stayed there for your two weeks then went to Kelly Park or wekiva springs they are state parks and your kids would love it
