Hi I’m wondering how would you recommend to get it off? I did this many many years ago and I’m ready for a new look.

This is definitely my favorite video of all the ones I’ve been watching. I keep coming back to it. Can anyone out there tell me if they’ve tried contact paper on tile counters? All the counters seem to be the standard laminate ones that are smooth and typical of apartment kitchens. Mine is an old tile one that came with this house that was built in 1989. Thanks in advance. 😊

  19. Carolina on October 20, 2021 at 9:53 am

How is this renter friendly? Looks cute but this is is super thin and won’t stand up to anything. If you had put epoxy on the counters it would have helped. And the backsplash? When they clean after grease gets splattered it will start tearing and looking awful. I get doing things on the cheap, but quality matters. MHO.

  20. Gabriela Deuschle on October 20, 2021 at 9:54 am

I love this idea!! It’s a great way to change the look of your kitchen without going through all the high expense or getting grueling work. Not to mention the patience it would take to wait for all the cleaning, priming, and painting days that it takes. This looks like a one day event. My only problem is my counters are tile. Maybe I’ll just bleach the grout to give it a clean look and apply decals. Thanks for the hack! Your kitchen looks beautiful! ❤️

What about the heat with the contact paper it melts I did in my bathroom no hot irons or candles?

  24. Colt Baker on October 20, 2021 at 9:58 am

Is this counter paper durable? I have 70’s counters but also 4 boys?

  25. Ms Rain W. on October 20, 2021 at 9:59 am

  31. T Gamer on October 20, 2021 at 10:02 am

THANKS for this video!!! All the apartments in my budget are just old and disgusting and dark wood colors. Desperately needs a makeover so at least im getting an idea on how to do my apartment once the leasing managers call me.

  32. Spiritual Aries on October 20, 2021 at 10:02 am

Contact paper will burn n you can cut it with a knife . I don’t understand how you have this in a kitchen .

  33. Lady Grace on October 20, 2021 at 10:05 am

This is crazy fabulous. I just love what you did with this.

  34. Rosa Mancebo on October 20, 2021 at 10:05 am

  35. Beauty is Ageless on October 20, 2021 at 10:06 am

FYI: I asked for permission to do this DIY. I see so many comments from landlords upset regarding rental apartments DIY’s. If you are renting please remember that you need permission to make any changes and that if you don’t please make sure they are not permanent and that you will return the place the same it was giving to you. The day I move I will be placing back items I removed. Thank you.

  36. utesa lee on October 20, 2021 at 10:07 am

It seems like this contact paper and removable wallpaper thing is just getting started it’s getting pretty popular among renters like myself..
The only thing I can’t figure out is why it took so long for it to catch on I was doing contact paper for my countertops and backsplash nearly 30 years ago it worked in and it sure in the heck works now even better.

  37. Mari JG on October 20, 2021 at 10:09 am

  41. utesa lee on October 20, 2021 at 10:11 am

I love this kind of do-it-yourself my dears since we can’t make permanent changes to our rental units as if we were homeowners but we still want to live the best we can even though we’re renting time being.
There’s little tricks that we could do and make our kitchen look like it was done by a pro and if you have the right stuff you could make it look like a high-end kitchen.
I will try to post my kitchen in my bathroom and you could see what you think…

  42. Makeba M on October 20, 2021 at 10:11 am

Did you seal the counter tops?

  43. Deann Harris on October 20, 2021 at 10:11 am

  46. J Walka on October 20, 2021 at 10:17 am

    Great job!

  47. D.H. on October 20, 2021 at 10:17 am

How long would this last? 🤔

  48. Carmen Hernandez on October 20, 2021 at 10:18 am

Sorry, there is no way that contact paper will stayed adhered to the surfaces, esp. the countertop. It looks beautiful but not feasible. You do beautiful work .

  49. Glamanie on October 20, 2021 at 10:19 am

Where did you purchased the oven cover

  50. She Tried It on October 20, 2021 at 10:21 am

This looks like some sh*t a renter would do to your property. You should show what this looks like two weeks in. Peeling from steam and grease and cooking. Any renter would prefer what was there before. They’ll have to work a million times harder to keep that from falling apart. #ghetto DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR KITCHEN.
