So La-Z-boy is an actual brand name for a recliner or how a chair is constructed (proprietry)? Why do competitors say or place the words La-Z-Boy in their product if it’s not an actual La-Z-Boy….it always confused me

  2. Carole Cardinale on April 25, 2021 at 2:30 am

Evidently it’s not a lift chair also?

  3. William Johnson on April 25, 2021 at 2:32 am

    will it fit a 230 lbs 6ft.

  4. MrShinebone on April 25, 2021 at 2:32 am

I am a 300 plus man and setting in a 15 year old Lazy boy right now and still comfortable. I have had several other brands in the past and they just didn’t hold up. When the time comes I will get another one.

We bought a family room full of furniture.  They SOLD us the extended warranty stating it covered everything for 5 years.  On one $1000 leather recliner we added memory foam cushions.  The foam in that chair failed and was defective.  Neither La-Z-Boy or the warranty folks will do anything for us.  We do not have an issue with this store but we do with La-Z-Boy not doing anything for us.  We at least wanted the useless warranty cost of $249 to be refunded but they refused.  They offered to replace the cushion for over $600.   So two suggestions: 1) DO NOT pay extra for the memory foam.  It was the only chair that failed to perform in our 15 yrs of buying from them. 2) DO NOT buy the warranty.  It is only for accidental damage and not for anything else.  It is really just an insurance policy and we were told otherwise when we bought it.  Sad we have an expensive chair that now looks like crap.     We will not likely buy any more of their products due to the very poor customer support.

Just bought one today. Went to a few different stores, ended at a La-Z-Boy store. Every recliner I sat in was more comfortable than even my favorites at the other stores. Ended up buying a manual Trouper. Can’t wait to get it. Was like laying on a cloud.

  12. Velma Morgan on April 25, 2021 at 2:39 am

Our chair "walks" when rocking; how do we stop that action?

  13. saddozaiproduction on April 25, 2021 at 2:41 am

Notice at 3:06 the competitive recliner is intentionally stopped.

Used to have a rapids model lazyboy and it was great, had it for years, everyone fought over it. Replaced it with a maverick suite and the recliners are crap to be honest. As soon as you put up the footrest and lean back the seat base tilts back too much so that even though I have the recline adjusters tightened as much as they will go the back keeps sinking which transfers more weight back and causes the seat to tilt even more so that you end up with the backrest parallel to the floor and your feet as high or higher than your head. Its as if the rocker springs are in the wrong place or are not strong enough. The first time I used it before tightening the backrest I put my hands behind my head , leant back and tipped over backwards, now the tension is wound up that tight that you really have to work to get backrest back up. I have also noticed that The maverick model is gone from Australian lazyboy website which suggests maybe I am not the only one to hate it

My wife and I full time RV and we are looking at removing the nice RV recliners and replacing with La-Z-Boy recliners. We had La-Z-Boy recliners in our actual home and would like to go back to them. Does La-Z-Boy have an RV recliner or a model/s that would work. We have a 40’ Montana 5th Wheel. Thanks.

  16. Jriff Riffel on April 25, 2021 at 2:44 am

Is there a way to adjust the tension on the back of the recliner? We just bought 2 new recliners and it’s terribly difficult to push the backs into a reclining position. Should have checked this at the store; I would have never bought them if they are meant to be so difficult!

  17. Bongos congas & antique cash register collecting on April 25, 2021 at 2:46 am

Yes lazboy recliners are the best for I still have mine & still is great!!!

  18. JackOnTits on April 25, 2021 at 2:47 am

This guy understands me. La-Z-Boys are top of line!

  19. crystal shao on April 25, 2021 at 2:48 am

My husband is over 400lbs, does lazy boy provide reinforced structure for big person? Is it a special order?

  20. Mark T on April 25, 2021 at 2:48 am

I have a house full of Lay-Z-Boy but my last purchase, a 1,000 dollar leather recliner had a cheap strandboard foot rest that the screws ripped out of and now you cannot put screws back into those holes. (Specifically the ratcheting arm bracket in the middle of the foot rest) it did not fail from abuse, just cheap crap wood and screws!

  21. John Lutz on April 25, 2021 at 2:51 am

Excellent presentation, just what I needed to know, thank you!

  22. Ranger on April 25, 2021 at 2:56 am

We have had them thru th years, 20 plus yrs on this one now elect that rocks, thats a must and a little boost .

  23. toadamine on April 25, 2021 at 2:59 am

Ok now do the differences between a $400 la-z-boy and a $1,800 la-z-boy recliner… I’m honestly curious why differs color options warrant an $800 price difference on the same model… And that’s just for textile, not even leather, leather just says "custom pricing" on the website…

  24. Dennis Rojo on April 25, 2021 at 2:59 am

I’ve bought 4…at estate sales, LB’s hold up real well. They can be decades old, and if a 110 lb grandma owned it, it will last another decade or more. But sit in it, make sure it’s the right depth for you. If you have a short(er) thigh, you’ll want a seat depth that mostly matches that dimension. Yep, they are worth the money, especially if you get it lightly used. Good product.

  25. John Lawler on April 25, 2021 at 3:00 am

My wife,s lazyboy recliner is a piece of junk!! The padding on both arms started to collapse before it was a year old!! We called them and they wanted $75 an hour to rebuild the chair, plus materials. I have a 14 yearold Flexsteel recliner which I am still using!!

  26. Dianne Anderson on April 25, 2021 at 3:01 am

I have 2 Lazboy wingback recliners that I bought several yrs ago and underneath they look like the competitor recliner chair you are showing, not the LaZboy recliner in video. And one the recliners spring has slipped out of place on seating area. Although my hubby struggled & put it back in place the best he could, still it does not feel the same when sitting on it any more. We are senior citizens, which means the recliners were used with ease, so I am disappointed in its short term use. If it had been built like the LaZboy recliner in video I am sure it would not have had this issue. But what I’m learning from this video is to not just sat in the recliner when shopping, but look thoroughly underneath. We need to furniture shop like we car shop. My hubby’s Franklin big boy recliner I bought him many years ago is still in tip-top condition.

  27. Vikki Smith on April 25, 2021 at 3:02 am

Dont buy la z boy recliner. After 8 years the remote control broke. Not worth the money..

  28. A. Ced. on April 25, 2021 at 3:03 am

Initially I thought that rocking while reclining was dumb that is until I was holding my baby trying to put him to sleep and although not ideal I had a folding chair @ my feet… I completely reclined my chair and was still able to rock my chair by pushing off the folding chair… Yes it’s not an ideal setup but after adjusting my headrest and lumbar it was extremely comfortable

  29. NextNate03 on April 25, 2021 at 3:03 am

My 1st LazyBoy last about 10-11 years before it became uncomfortable.
The replacement LazyBoy broke after 4 years 1 month and 12 days. 2 dowel rods broke making it unusable to sit in.

To get a true replacement, it would cost almost $1,000. Same recliner would of cost $450 back in 2004.

  30. Mark Kropf on April 25, 2021 at 3:05 am

I’m glad I bought lazy boy! I really like it.

  32. SanDiegoFreddy on April 25, 2021 at 3:07 am

Which recliner would you recommend for someone that’s over 6 ft tall? I’d like it to be comfortable for me and for when my dogs jump on with me, but also not take up much space.

  33. medstudz on April 25, 2021 at 3:09 am

Looks like it’s better than IMG Comfort recliners

  34. Carole Cardinale on April 25, 2021 at 3:09 am

Do you make a higher priced chair with massage, heat, lift?

  35. TheMythBuster25 on April 25, 2021 at 3:09 am

I love my La-Z-Boy, but the only complaint that I have, is that it seems to go in the most reclined position a lot easier than before. Do you have any suggestions?

  36. Demise Media on April 25, 2021 at 3:10 am

I’ve been in the market for a La-Z-Boy for a few months now. My grandfather has always owned La-Z-Boy recliners and now it’s time for me to buy one too. Being on a tight budget I came across a used one at my local thrift store. It’s in decent condition with some wear and tear one the sides but everything else works fine! I bought it for… $13.99. YES! You read that correctly. It’s basically free. I gave the guy who helped me load it in the my gf car a $5 tip lol

  37. Mel on April 25, 2021 at 3:11 am

What kind (brand name) of lift mechanism does La-Z-Boy use?

  38. Betty Updike on April 25, 2021 at 3:12 am

I have had mine for over 20 years and is still good. The only thing is it needs to be reupholstered. I have 2 and would not buy anything else

  39. S. P. Spatafore on April 25, 2021 at 3:12 am

I’ve had my lazboy for 4 years and have had to have it repaired twice. It was so expensive to have repaired despite the "warranty" that I had to start fixing it myself which I’ve done 3 time. It creaks, and the back creeps loose over time. They are expensive pieces of garbage.

  40. wwtv on April 25, 2021 at 3:12 am

I paid $900 for a LaZ Boy and it didn’t last five years. Very disappointing quality.

  41. Mike Walters on April 25, 2021 at 3:12 am

I just bought new lazyboy lift last lazyboy lift was 15 years old still looks new . But battery backup went bad ,so bought new chair that uses 9 volt battery or can go cordless on batterypack.

Great video! Very informative. Thank you! 💯

  43. Jackie Clover on April 25, 2021 at 3:14 am

I can’t find the charging port on my new Maverick power recliner. How do you set the 2 settings.

  44. Darryl Riech on April 25, 2021 at 3:15 am

He’s right. As the video played, I checked the features on my La-Z-Boy, and it’s just as he described. I’m disabled, and I am forced to sleep in a recliner. I spend 95% of my time in this chair, it looks the same and feels the same as it did 2 years ago when I purchased it. Yeah, they are pricey, but, they really are the best on the market. I won’t buy anything else.

How do I remove the back to move house

  46. william foreman on April 25, 2021 at 3:22 am

Well I bought a lane about one year ago and its trash,,,$400 piece of junk,,, so,,,,,,, I’m thinking I’m going to try a lazy boy,,,I have priced a big and tall model for $800 I hope I’m not making a mistake.

  47. Cristiano Suzuki on April 25, 2021 at 3:22 am

You answered my questions. Off to a local la-z-boy store today.

  48. Catherine Westholt on April 25, 2021 at 3:23 am

I find mine more comfortable than my bed for sleeping. Therefore, I am in it a lot more hours than average use. I am thankful for the locking mechanism since my cats are jumping on and off the foot rest as well as napping there. I had one for about 16 years before I got rid of it and bought this one.
