Less Waste Bathroom Ideas (Cleaning + Self-Care)

Less Waste Bathroom Ideas (Cleaning + Self-Care)

Hey everyone! PLEASE OPEN & READ FOR MORE INFO & SAFETY INFO:
During this pandemic I’ve felt a stronger urge and responsibility to try to be less wasteful. I know I haven’t always been perfect and won’t always be perfect about it, but I want to make a stronger effort to use what I have and buy less over all. Today I’m sharing some of my ideas and switch overs with you.

Safety Notes:
These household cleaners DO NOT disinfect. I keep Clorox bleach in my cabinet for when I feel an area of my home needs to be disinfected. These DIY vinegar cleansers are good for touch ups. Also DO NOT ever mix vinegar and clorox bleach. I use bleach by itself, and these cleansers for touch ups.

Essential Oils- When it comes to essential oils I do NOT consume them. For the toothpaste please do NOT swallow. The EO should be food grade, or use peppermint extract instead.

Baking Soda- Use it consciously. It can help remove surface stains, however scrubbing your teeth vigorously with baking soda can cause damage to the tooth and erode enamel over time. It is advisable to brush your teeth with baking soda no more than a few times a week, and when you do, don’t let it sit on your teeth for more than a minute.

Check out http://www.TheEarthlingco.com – They recently gifted me a package of their shampoo and conditioner bars, bamboo toothbrushes, and a few things for a less wasteful kitchen (I will do that video soon)..

Here are my Amazon “Less-Waste” Picks
I try to order from Amazon in bulk so that I can keep the shipments down. You can also compost Amazon boxes & even their shipping tape is compostable. These are all items I personally bought and use. I’m sharing the exact links with you.. I make a small commission from Amazon, and it helps me continue to move in this direction with my channel, and make authentic content.

I used coconut oil for toothpaste once and clogged my drains. Now I just hydrate bentonite clay, salt, baking soda.

Soda is not good for your teeth. If you use it, you destroy the enamel and tooth structure.

Apart from the things others have mentioned in the comments, I also like how you are not wasteful with tap water. You use only as much water as is needed. Some people just switch on the pipe letting the water out with full force, just to wet their toothbrush.

I love your channel. So sweet, so cosy, so natural… Congrats ! 💞
I’m sure you would love my channel too (similar lifestyle, but not so professional results 🤐😀😀😀) but it’s in French 😂

Great ideas as always. I made your vinegar recipe for bathroom. It doesn’t really clean well. I was wondering if vinegar is eunough for killing the bacteria on the floor or surfaces?

HEY EVERYONE!! PLEASE read the description for more details.. I added some safety facts and info on some of these DIY options.

I use bleach by itself, and these cleansers for touch ups only.

Essential Oils – please use food grade and do not swallow the toothpaste, or out of an abundance of caution use peppermint extract instead.

Baking Soda- Use it consciously. It can help remove surface stains, however scrubbing your teeth vigorously with baking soda can cause damage to the tooth and erode enamel over time. It is advisable to brush your teeth with baking soda no more than a few times a week, and when you do, try not to let it sit on your teeth for more than a minute. I personally use mine occasionally in addition to store bought toothpaste.

Also, I apologize that I didn’t pronounce http://www.TheEarthingco.com correctly, as I so badly wanted to support them..

Thank you for being so conscious of the fact that people are struggling to pay for those "non essential" luxuries we all used to enjoy, before the hard economic times. This does not go unnoticed. What a wonderful reminder we can still practice self care through these tough times.

Mrs. Talbott, I have been watching your channel since you were living in the apartment, pregnant with Oliver. Your videos are so soothing, realistic, and inspiring. I have the same exact mop, you can take the mop head off and throw it in the washer with bleach and vinegar and it looks brand new.

I powdered chickpea flour, oatmeal, lavender, green tea, neem leaves and hibiscus leaves- and mixed all and put in an airtight container. It’s such a nice gentle none-toxic and sustainable face cleanser!

  39. Rachel Ruiz on April 27, 2021 at 3:17 am

HI 👋 RACHEL I LOVE ❤️ ALL YOUR VIDEOS NICE 👍

  40. Kellie Smith on April 27, 2021 at 3:19 am

girl if you aren’t TRULY brushing your teeth with freakin baking soda and coconut oil the you really shouldn’t recommend to your followers. You could really be contributing to rotting out teeth out and potentially sink them financially if they can’t afford the dental work.

It’s one thing to recommend house things/beauty/etc but be I’d be careful of medical and dental advice, you might actually negatively impact someone’s life pretty significantly. I’d hope you’d care about that…
