Another awesome video! question, when you order things, like the fuel pump for your diesel heater in this case, how do you retrieve those packages?

I see those frozen lakes. Can we go ice fishing?

  3. Nubby Rose on November 6, 2021 at 10:07 am

You also could have deglazed the pan with chicken stock/soup and make a gravy for the chicken.

Do you read much? I love non-fiction. I’m in the states so I’ve read books like "We Took To The Woods" and "Not Without Peril". I think you’d like the second one more. That book is about tragedy on Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. Are there any good Canadian non-fiction books that are about the outdoors?

Alan Watts said “The meaning of life,is to live”. So few of us get to do that and choose instead to be gerbils in a treadmill to accumulate things. Live and live well, breathe the fresh air and take in the sky. Many of us are With you in spirit.

Frost inside windows = condensation. Silica gel crystals will absorb moisture in the air, available in craft stores, place is something breathable (an old cotton sock), place around van. Wool also attracts vapor, wool window covers, wool insulation etc. Both silica and wool work great and dry out during the day.

I also have a chinese diesel heater. They are very touchy, everything must be just right! The fuel pump must be on at least a 45% angle or it will not be properly lubricated because of air bubbles trapped in the pump. Further more you don’t want any high spots in the fuel line beyond the fuel pump because air bubbles will accumulate in that high spot and cause heater failure. These heaters will soot up if everything is not just right That means you will have to dismantle it to clean it up either or brake cleaner will work just fine. Do not remove the atomizer screen that is in the hole where the igniter goes unless you have a new one to put in it. Just blow it out with either. Be cautious when removing the ignitor as the wires break off if mishandled. Check this site out for a full understanding of your Chinese diesel heater https://youtu.be/jCZhjGyR3bo Because you spend so much time in cold climates I would recommend you buy a back up system just in case. Hope this helps. David

You can also use Bon Ami powder (about $1.5) on pan and not have to worry about toxic chemicals.

Just soak pot, dump out ingredients then use Bon Ami powder and foam sponge.

Can find it near dish soaps, etc.

  35. Crusty Camper on November 6, 2021 at 10:41 am

You made me spray out my tea when I saw your editing at 5:10 / 5:12 So funny. Later in the video you mentioned the spares that you carry. You don’t seem to have overloaded yourself with gear, so could you show us what are the essentials ? Pete

Why not sprinkle some selfrising flour in your meat grease , brown it a bit salt pepper add water until thin enough , good brown gravy . Pan nearly clean . Would have been great on your potatoes.
