I’m just starting my van build. I need the bed frame done and then I can get started. Hopefully the weather will continue to improve in Connecticut so I can get into some of the state parks. I’m not really worried about sleeping in my van. Its the “newness” of it. You give great advice on where to park at night. I’ve been taking notes.

I agree people should be able to live in their vehicles as long as they are respectful and don’t litter and trash that area they live in. I also think it’s important that they move around and don’t stay in the same spot day after day after day. That’s when it poses a problem with local neighbors.

Hey Allison…how do you research town ordinances for overnight parking and vehicle dwelling?
I’ve been considering van life for a while I work and my biggest worry is being able to find parking in the city on a daily bases and being stealth enough to pull it off. Is there a reference you can refer me to to understand power? I’ve seen Bluettti and Jackery. How does one know how much power needed for various outputs? What is a good elevation to not need AC for comfortable sleeping?

as a former truck driver i was able to sleep in my rig so it doesnt make any sense that your not allowed to sleep in your car..when you get drowsy behind the wheel its best to pull over and get some rest..i know from experience of 20+ yrs of otr driving..would the cops rather have you drive drowsy and cause a crash or get pulled over and get a ticket for reckless driving?..also know from experience..need to change this stupid law(s)

In my area it is expressly forbidden to camp in your vehicle or sleep overnight in your vehicle at a park and ride. Ok to sleep during the day I guess though 🤔 I guess you can just take your chances sometimes…
