I’m in NoVa so my place is aesthetically similar. (I feel like all luxury dwellings are. Lol!) the apartment itself is nice. It seems like storage and organization pieces could really help. The rug in your bedroom would flatter the space more if it were a larger scale. While you have many nice pieces, the scale is unbalanced. Many of the pieces are too low or small. The shoe rack by the door and bottom shelf creates a lot of visual clutter when you walk in. Depending on your style, baskets, ikea puggis, or kuggis could fit well on those shelves. The shoes can go into a unit which can double as entryway landing space for your keys, wallet, and sunglasses (or whatever. Just not too much). Your bedroom has enough space for an ikea wardrobe and will not diminish your space so that you can move your jackets from the living room. I know you like to cook a lot and your clothes will smell like food eventually even if you can’t tell and nobody tells you. (I suggest ikea because it’s inexpensive, effective, minimalist, and will lay flush against the length of the wall so it won’t feel like you’ve lost any space. You can even as the landlord for touch up paint and paint it the same color as the walls. Adding a bit of trim to the bottom to match your baseboards is cheap and creates a flawless finish. A wire cover under your tv would also help. I know you didn’t ask for this but I LOVE decor. If you’d like some help or affordable ideas I’m glad to help. Congratulations on your new space! You’ve done well. Please don’t take this as criticism. It’s just suggestions from a design and functionality standpoint.
