The contacts you wear are the worst! Many other brands are better! I found that out just ordering other brands. Way way better contacts.

Take a look at the cooking method of Chad on living the van life, he uses a Dutch oven over a camp fire for almost all his cooking (Winter /Summer).

Awsome video never thought about moisture like that before. Maybe mold proof paint from the hardware store is a good place to start.

I’m always astounded by the number of people that use a solid sheet of ply for a bed. The mattress will not breath. Just use slats – just like a bed in a house. Not only will they allow the bed to breath but there is less wood and therefore less weight! You can buy bed slats cheap on eBay. I screwed mine down to my self built frame.

Learning is fun with Lex n Riot.
Camped with two egg crates on top of my 18" high air mattress & under my sleeping bag. They were soaked after two weeks. Tent didn’t leak neither did I.
Feeling not so bright but your video taught me why. Thank you!

this is (one reason) i have a Cubic Mini Cub in my cargo trailer. It was, to me at least, reasonably priced for the job it does. Best heater I’ve ever used and it dries the eff out of the interior. It’s like the dry super-hero fighting the moist super-villain.

Lex, I hope you see this comment. Iโ€™m bedridden & dependent on caregivers for my activities of daily living. First of all, Iโ€™m totally on a Lex & Riot binge & will definitely like & probably comment on all your vlogs to increase your YT algorithm. Love your sense of humor, that dry wit so unique to you.

Anyway, my husband was doing the dishes tonight when I asked him to come watch a funny video. He complained saying he was just getting into cleaning. I said, โ€œBut itโ€™s a Lex & Riot video!โ€ I swear he couldnโ€™t get to me fast enough & you had us both ROFL our asses off. Life is rough & one of my greatest joys is laughing w/him thnx to you. Youโ€™re one in a million & I adore you. You give us both that wonderful deadpan humor & plenty of useful info to boot for nomads & non-nomads alike.

Ty for being you & doing you. You make living with a terminal illness wildly fun.๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿฅณ

Great ideas about moisture. I live in the southeast, and we have a LOT of moisture. Relative humidity of 80% and higher is not unusual. As a result we have a lot of mold & mildew issues. I recently found a cleaning product called โ€œMoldexโ€ sold by Rust-oleum. It works great and does not harm fabrics the way bleach does. If you do get mold or mildew I highly recommend it.

2003, we converted a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
    I insulated with:
a — adhesive sound-mat against the wall to reduce condensation, plus
b — one-inch pink-board used for wet rooms such as the bathroom in a stand-still house, plus
    c — two-inch foil-back foam-board.
We full-time live-aboard since 2003… and our experience indicates excessive insulation is better.

Since 2017, we workkamp at a small organic teaching farm near the outskirts of Eugene Oregon.
Last night was in the low 30s.
We heat with a Wave 3 catalytic (with two others for back-ups), but on the lowest setting.
We regulate our interior temperature by opening our windows.

    Moisture?
    We thought the roof leaked!
We tape-sealed and sprayed and rolled with stand-still mobile-home roofer until we realized the culprit is not external intrusion.
Our interior ‘rain’ was condensation from not enough ventilation.

These days, we always have two opposing windows open.
Before we leave for the day, we open all three windows!

    This works for us.
With nearly two decades full-time, our bed platform is dry and our mattress odorless.

Ok. Iโ€™m laughing so hard right now. Lex this was a riot. Bwahaha. I think itโ€™s the strangest thing that people get triggered when they hear the word moist. Hereโ€™s one. Your mother got moist (to both conceive & birth you). Get the fuck over it. Not you Lex. I love how you played w/the word in this vlog. Seriously your dry wit gets me every.single.time. And youโ€™re always full of solutions. Love it & you.

When your rh(relative humidity) is above 60% there is enough moisture in the air that hygroscopic materials will start to absorb the excess water vapor from the air. And the temperature drop that occurs every night is going to cross past the dew point which causes your condensation. Moist + time= mold
Your recommendations are all legit. Your diesel heater should correct pretty much all your dampness. Even though it sits under your bed, coring some holes in the platform under your mattress would probably still be a good idea.
From one cheesehead to another……Do you think you can manage to work a โ€œprit nearโ€ (not even sure how itโ€™s spelled as I have only heard it spoken) into one of your videos.
    Ya hey!!
