My Beautiful Original Pink 1930s-1940s Vintage Bathroom!

Here it is! A video on my pink vintage bathroom! My house was built 1938-1940 and many of the original fixtures and paint are still intact. There is a pink Standard American sink and tub, a beautiful vanity, laundry chute, and a tiled-out mosaic menora.

😍😍😍😍😍 I love your vintage bathroom but even moreso I love your passion for genuine, original period specific decor πŸ’–
I do have one question for you; Do you keep your husband Randy in the basement? πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Oh, my heart! I love the menorah! I collect menorahs and Judaica and that is just such a cool find!! If I saw that in a house I was looking to buy, I’d know it was meant to be! Now, to convince my gentile husband that we should totally do the same. πŸ˜‚

I’ve never seen a ( revolving, retractable? ) toothpaste station like that before. What a find! I could have lived there 10 years and not noticed that the pretty shiny square does something when you push it! The sink is my favourite part of your bathroom. It’s really beautiful.

The original toilet seat was probably black. I like the pink one though.

You can actually find retro pink toilets at places like the ReStore that are still in great shape

Btw, nice vintage bath! The only thing I’d replace is that modern lo flo toilet with a period vintage one, like maybe a pink one piece "Standard".

Saw a video some years ago, they were renovating a house that had THE most perfect pink tile bathroom. No renovations had been done at all, everything was beautiful, everything worked— and they ripped everything out. It killed me. p.s. Pink and black is FAB– Hope you get the brown out, and I also love your glassblock window.

    I love your vintage bathroom.

I’ve seen both rosy pink and peachy pink fixtures. I’m not sure if it was a brand thing or part of a brand’s color line to have both tones.

Great bathroom! My old house was built in 1940 and the bathroom was peach and black…we had the rotary phones too but ours were in the upstairs hallway and kitchen! My sink color was just like yours.

According to Richard Nixon and others, President LBJ used to have meetings while "on the throne". I remember one King Of The Hill episode where Hank’s boss called the staff to the men’s room, and he held the meeting while in the stall doing his business. πŸ˜†πŸ˜† I’ve been on the phone with select friends while on the throne myself. I’d just say "LBJ!" and they’d know immediately. A phone by the toilet is not a bad idea.

We had a rotary phone in the bathroom it was old, i forget what they called the style. Maybe a candlestick style? Got rid of it when we got rid of our landline. It was useful! Love your bathroom, thanks for sharing.

President Lyndon Johnson had telephones installed in all the bathrooms of the White House. He wanted to keep contact at all times! If you keep the phone, perhaps get plastic coat spray paint and spray it pink or black.

my first apt had a ming green/black tile trim 30’s bathroom very much like yours. all the walls were tiled. same style sink. it had a recessed medicine chest & inside was a slit with a label under it said RAZOR BLADES. they disposed of their razors in the slit which fell behind the wall. they even had a razor strop attached to a chrome railing attached to the side of the sink for sharpening the old fashioned straight razors! there was a metal hamper built into the wall. 2 round metal & frosted glass tube wall sconces on either side of medicine chest very art deco looking. also had big built in shelves for towels & accessories next to the tub. it was a roomy bathroom by todays apt standards. i really adored that bathroom.
