Those built in shelves remind me of my house growing up – it had built in shelves with cabinets underneath. The ones in the dining room displayed my mom’s decorative plates (all blue and white), and the ones in the living room (open floor plan) displayed her Toby jug collection.
One of my favorite bloggers got those about a year ago (strangely, not a sponsorship), and I thought they were adorable. I want those for my cats now.
Why am I not surprised that you’re a planner girl?
Maybe it’s just me, but the balance is off by having that 4th frame in the far left row. I’d either add a 5th one on the same row as the far left one, or just stick with the three middle ones. (Middle one as a family picture, left with Max and right with Cory is how I envision it)

Yes, you need a spot for the dogs. I noted you have your beloved blue (which I love, too) in the office, so you have to accommodate the dogs who supervise your work. Ah-ha, that’s a serious dog bed. Are you going to put the painting on the wall above the dog bed? Our pets deserve to be photo-shopped by those immortalizing them for posterity. They put up with a lot from their humans even after they’ve spent time to train us and we backslide. I love that you have each column in the wall unit displaying a differing aspect of your lives. It’s fine if the photo albums overlap the shelf by about half an inch (4 inches overhang would be cumbersome, perhaps).

Okay I am going to need one of those pictures of my pug baby. I am not a minimalist so my advice on empty shelves is to fill it with books. I rarely have empty shelves my problem is deciding which books have to find new homes because I have new ones that need homes. That said your office is beautiful.
