Veteran can enter if run by the Dept of interior. Does that includes others in my car ( total of 5) going to Bryce and Death Valley. In the Fall?? and I understand that National Parks Service is included , is the Corp of Engineers include? Thanks for the Video. Jim

I’ve had my Access pass for a few years now and I’ve never been asked for it. I walk with a cane and have handicapped tags on my vehicles. Every time I’ve gone to a National Park, etc. either the entrance station was unmanned or I just got waved in. Weird.

is my math right – are they valuing volunteers at 32 cents an hour? (250 hrs to get a pass valued at $80)?

Thanks for the info! Heading to AZ from NC in May to visit Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest Natl Park, Montezuma’s Castle and those fees total $70 so might as well buy the $80 Annual Pass and hope to use it somewhere else over the next year!!!

  8. Dennis D on December 28, 2021 at 2:32 pm

Several years ago my sister and wife bought the lifetime pass for only $10 each. I am a disabled vet so my pass was free and I also have a free lifetime state park pass (10 days free camping per month included). Disabled people should check with their state see what may be available at the state level. Use them about every other week spring – summer – fall.

It’s a shame they didn’t extend the annual pass…I bought one in Feb 2020 thinking I would use it in the fall…and then COVID happened. So I overpaid for a pass when I could have paid less to get into the 2 parks we used it in 😕

  13. Lew White on December 28, 2021 at 2:37 pm

My wife and I got ours for $10 each about 20 yrs ago. Have been to more than 17 Nat. parks. I think we got our money worth.

We purchased a National Pass before I saw this video or this website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/mbs/passes-permits/recreation We just want to know if we can get into Mt. Baker in Washington with it? Do I need a "Discover Pass" in addition? We’re visiting Oregon and Washington in May and all of the Oregon Coast. If you start clicking through some of the links on that website, it has tons of different passes. Do you know if the National will get us into Mt. Baker?

  18. stevin47 on December 28, 2021 at 2:46 pm

So sad trump destroyed so much of our national parks . allowing mining and oil and gas drilling and deforestation

  19. Eric Livingston on December 28, 2021 at 2:48 pm

We got the access pass and want to go to the Grand Canyon. Will I be able to just drive in and show them my card?

  20. Brian E5349 on December 28, 2021 at 2:48 pm

Well the government can gfts I pay taxes and I will go on any land any time. You don’t see this shit in south Carolina.

  21. Jeremy Marquez on December 28, 2021 at 2:49 pm

Thank you so much for talking about the Gold Star families. We have been told that if we are a member of Gold Star Mother’s of America we can show our membership card.

  24. Gnightsmart on December 28, 2021 at 2:52 pm

Thanks for the update. Seems the regulators have gone crazy with fees and laws, just in time for "campsite is full" signs.

  25. Daniel Piérola Gambi on December 28, 2021 at 2:53 pm

Very informative. How can I buy the Annual Pass being a foreigner and I want tu buy it anticipated? I’ve checked the website and it was a little troubling, cause we had to print and scan a paper with our data and payment info. Are any other way more expedite?
    Thanks

I worked for the National Park Service for over 30 yrs and was always confused . The names changed as well as the type. Yikes! You did a very good job on this explanation and there will be a test on it in 3 months😬 …. Thanks again😉

  27. D PAGE on December 28, 2021 at 2:55 pm

You do realize that you are being charged to use land that you are already allowed to access as an American?

  28. Infurious on December 28, 2021 at 2:55 pm

Unfortunately some of these passes (like the military and 4th grade passes) are NOT avaialble online in the USGS store. You have to get them in person. The USGS website provides the eligabilty critera but then says you can’t get them online.

Why is everyone praising Illegal actions plus stealing land. not paying a dime. Then charging us to go there., why do people support this socialism crap

  38. borg386 on December 28, 2021 at 3:11 pm

Thorough for sure! Well done. Sucks though, cause I remember growing up and seeing those 55 and older only parks thinking I can’t wait until I get senior citizen discounts. Now I’m 57, and it moved up to 62.
    Story of my life!

  41. Callie Steppat on December 28, 2021 at 3:15 pm

Could my mom get one as a senior and I could put my name on the second line and use it without her with me?

  43. D. Nuts on December 28, 2021 at 3:16 pm

Im on social security disability and i payed $80.00 for a annual pass. Why didn’t i get a free pass? My social security number is to important for me to give out to a unknown person.

  44. Professor Sogol on December 28, 2021 at 3:18 pm

You mentioned motorcycles get a sticker to attach to the machine. Is there a sticker for bicycles? Do I want to permanently place a sticker on my Colnago? (I’ll answer that question: No.) And what is hiker or backpacker to do when the campsite is here and the person is there?

  45. Tommy Collier on December 28, 2021 at 3:19 pm

Someday want to live in a skoolie. When I was a kid I was diagnosed with PDDnos & possibly ADD. I’m wondering if that would be make me able to apply for a handicapped pass…

  49. Iissafaith on December 28, 2021 at 3:21 pm

What a great, thorough explanation of this! We have one, the Senior Pass, and have used it extensively, and consider it one of our better investments but, this is truly the best breakdown I’ve seen regarding this. That’s why I love your channel – one of the most informative and easy-to-watch full-time RV channels out there. Thanks for what you guys do!
