NEVER TOO SMALL 50sqm/538sqft Small Apartment Design – Small Grand Apartment

Set inside the heritage-listed Grand Hotel building in the Melbourne CBD, the aptly named Small Grand Apartment has been meticulously transformed by the team at tsai Design into an open plan, minimalist space by the use of clever, multi-functional design. The picturesque kitchen blends seamlessly into the living area, containing an 8m wrap around countertop that continues into a cleverly concealed bathroom. In the living area, a custom designed credenza forms both TV cabinet and seating for dining, whilst also supporting a bespoke drop leaf table, convertible between desk and dining table. All of this ensures that the apartment’s aesthetic is as clean as possible, while maintaining flexibility.

Something about this place calls to my heart 😍

Design is elegant, purposeful & principal.

My jaw literally DROPPED when she opened the bathroom door! OMG my flat is 695sq ft yet I would traid in a heartbeat. This place is so beautiftully and thoughtfully designed

  4. emmylou3321 on December 24, 2021 at 1:42 pm

That wouldn’t be possible in Italy. By law there must be two doors separating the kitchen from the toilet.

  5. Hasan Nazir on December 24, 2021 at 1:43 pm

I love the aesthetic of small apartments and the creativity that goes into it but I’ve never seen one that I would like to actually live in until now

  6. Jackson D on December 24, 2021 at 1:43 pm

    The cat was so adorable-

  7. Niamh on December 24, 2021 at 1:45 pm

What a beautiful and elegant apartment! The kitchen and bathroom especially look so serene, wonderfully done🤍

  8. R C on December 24, 2021 at 1:45 pm

This apartment is so geniously reimagined! the only thing I would change is having all the cabinet-type doors open out and slide back into the cabinet space, in case you wanted to keep the fridge open all the time and not have a door in your face. Reduced width space but increases convenience when you’re not hosting.

This is probably my favorite out of the dozens of NTS spaces I’ve seen thus far. Amazing all around!

    aaaa this is so good

  13. B Zileski on December 24, 2021 at 1:51 pm

The high ceilings are the ULTIMATE luxury – and in this apartment this element alone is what makes this space the elegant vision that it is.

  14. dazzlerflower on December 24, 2021 at 1:53 pm

THE CAT SHOWING OFF THE SPACE IS THE HIGHLIGHT NGL

That just blew my mind, it’s so aesthetically pleasing and functional!

  18. OC Kinderdance on December 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm

It’s amazing. But it must be expensive 👍

  19. Oana on December 24, 2021 at 2:01 pm

It’s very pretty but some things don’t seem that great to me.
That counter between the bath and kitchen is totally pointless and looks gimmicky, besides the door is big enough without it and could actually seal of properly as a full door. Like that it just looks like you would be able to hear from one room to the other.
That fridge unit sticks out, maybe it would have been better if it was as high as the ceiling and blended as a wall.
From the way she opened the bed it looks like the front leg could easily roll and break the bed and mirror, does not look that functional.
The oven sticks out too much there at the end, it would have blended better on the other side and have the rounded corner on the counter at that end as well.
And one of those frame tvs, hanged on the wall in line with the other pictures, would have been so nice and would have cleared a lot of space. That’s just a rant though I would love to have that space anyways 🙂

I just came from the “futuristic” apartment in Hong Kong, which was the apartment I least liked out of all the ones I’ve seen on this channel. Then I came here and this, this is the most beautiful apartment I have seen on this channel. It truly is exceptional and feels miles huger than the almost 700sqft futuristic apartment. Bravo!!!

Me and my wife did an inspection in this building a couple of years ago (I didn’t get it tho :D) , so we know the initial lay out of the apartment, and I really love this transformation.

Please show what magic was done to conceal the kitty litter in these videos where there are cats. Thanks 🙂

    Everything flows seamlessly. Its beautiful.

  30. Gomba13 on December 24, 2021 at 2:11 pm

The hate in the comments for the person who lives in that space is unreal. It lays bare some frankly ridiculous envy and also a huge lack of open-mindedness and education, as though we had to stick with dated approaches and material even despite the huge technological advances of the past few decades. If this apartment exists, it is because it fulfills the needs of the person living there. Do you mind?

  31. 10 O'Swords on December 24, 2021 at 2:11 pm

Hidden bath great, not sure I want to sleep in a closet, seems a bit closet-rophobic, ba dum bum

  32. Chanelle Patou on December 24, 2021 at 2:12 pm

    Beautiful!

  33. Elizabeth Brower on December 24, 2021 at 2:12 pm

This is bigger than my apartment. Mine is only 350 sq ft. And it has nice windows and high ceilings.

  34. Darko G on December 24, 2021 at 2:12 pm

Nice design, kichen to bathroom bench and mirror bed are interesting ideas but everything over 35 m2 is really not a small space for an apartment.

There should be a kitchen smoke absorber there or the whole living room will become smelly

Just beautiful. The layout would work perfectly for a new build project.

  47. blatinobear on December 24, 2021 at 2:29 pm

This is one of the most mind blowing designs I’ve seen on this channel, the invisible kitchen, the infinity bedroom nook, the bathroom’s seamless flow into the kitchen’s vanity

  48. Diyyinah Jamora on December 24, 2021 at 2:32 pm

Ok this is the most amazing tiny apartment I’ve seen.

  49. Ella Eadig on December 24, 2021 at 2:37 pm
