I really appreciate you going through the high and low points of this process. I’m excited to see this shifted perspective applied to this space as it gets better and better!

Random thought, I keep thinking of different configurations for your furniture in your space. I wonder if sharing a blueprint of the apartment and having like a little contest for your subscribers to play around with layouts in an unusually shaped space could be a fun, interactive game of sorts….just a thought.

So excited you are back at it again on yt. Congrats on your new web design venture too! Excited for all the great things to come both in your life and with the aspects of it we get to share with you online!

I totally get where you’re coming from. If I had do my house 50:50 with my husband though, I think it would have ended up quite un-cohesive. He just had to trust me as I’m super into interiors and he’s not, so it made most sense that I took the creative lead on it. I showed him mood boards and colours etc before implementing them so he was involved. Obviously he has to live with it too but sometimes I feel you need to go all in with a style to make it work, rather than pulling back and it ending up a bit confused or meh.

I believe your partner is creative as well so maybe a little different, but if someone excels in an area, as you do (especially since your whole channel and business is about your apartment style) I don’t think it’s selfish at all. So please don’t beat yourself up over wanting to take the reins, it’s not toxic, it’s you being in your flow state ♥️

Girl let me tell you…. change can be exciting but Terrifying at the same. We are rebuilding my parental house and I will move after 10 years of living in my current space(3 with my husband). Also I’m pregnant with a lot of difficulties and all together has been insanely stressful…. I know I will be in a better mindset in 8 months but right now it’s so overwhelming. Fortunately my family is helping a lot.
i totally get what you are feeling though 😔

  5. Paula Ruiz on June 27, 2023 at 2:57 pm

I’m new to your channel and also live in Seattle. I recognized the area where you live and it’s really a nice area. I’m an interior design student and been decorating my first studio apartment. I learned how to minimized and keep it on the low scale when my space is hella small. I noticed how much stuff you have in a tiny space like a studio or even a one bedroom. I realized you may be a maximalist. I’ll check out more of your videos and see your styling concepts.

I’m looking forward to moving into a one bedroom apartment. I didn’t know you can paint walls if you’re renting. Do you need to paint it back to white or to its original paint once you move out?

  6. hesherette on June 27, 2023 at 2:58 pm

oh girl this video was so beyond relatable!! I can relate to literally EVERYTHING you’ve said! I’ve been working on decluttering my entire life + getting my current place how I’ve always wanted a space to be for the first time since leaving my amazing studio a few years ago. Leaving my "perfect for me studio" definitely caused a deep depression + identity crisis too. Thanks for being so open + sharing candidly. Also congrats on your new web design endeavor, you have an amazing eye for design + you will do great!

  7. Carrie Martin on June 27, 2023 at 2:58 pm

I relate so much to your vibe and approach. But i am going from the opposite perspective. Moving from larger marital home to smaller apartment in a separation. Detaching from my married identity. Learning to make decisions on my own and find my own style without someone elses input.

  8. 10barnaby1 on June 27, 2023 at 3:00 pm

Sorry to hear you have had your challenges. I quite understand that sharing the decorating ideas might be an issue, it’s hugely important to you and your whole identity is tied up with it. If I were in your shoes I might suggest to my partner that instead of both having equal say in everything, one could be the "boss" of one thing, say, the decorating, with the other able to suggest things but the final veto resting with the first person, and conversely, the partner could be in charge of another area, with the first person able to suggest things but the partner have the final veto. I am sure you will get there though, there was always going to be an adjustment! Glad to see Helo is looking relaxed. 💕

  9. MARIA STATHOPOULOS on June 27, 2023 at 3:01 pm

#3 point is the most challenging – merging 2 or more people’s interior styles with personal tastes in decor.
Decorating when living alone is easy because its all you.
Sharing space with a partner means balancing possessions, styles and the vibe of the home.
Sometimes buying big ticket items together, such as couches etc, helps to solidify your home as a couple too.

  10. nomad_333 on June 27, 2023 at 3:03 pm

Same boat, I moved into a new studio and I’m sort of stuck in terms of creativity in creating my new space. I like minimal but lively and i’m super picky which means it takes a long time to purchase stuff. Lol. Not a bad problem to have in 2022. Thanks for your videos, it’s been very helpful! 🙂

  11. Katerina Szymarek on June 27, 2023 at 3:07 pm

Just ran across your videos. Love them. Where did you get your living room shelves and TV stand from?

  12. Melissa Giesa on June 27, 2023 at 3:07 pm

I think decorating some of these newer apartments is difficult. You will build character in this space with your talent. I can’t wait to see what you do with this space! And, I can relate to how difficult it is to collaborate with a partner. It would be so much easier to not have to work with another person’s decorating ideas…..haha. Hugs sweet Steffi.

  13. Elizabeth Cruz on June 27, 2023 at 3:09 pm

Hi Steffi, will I need a website already established for your services or do you offer that in a package?

  14. InTheGlow135 ASMR on June 27, 2023 at 3:09 pm

Great video!!! I’m always struggling with decorating!! I have too much stuff and ultimately am donating things to charity or selling items off. I like seeing fewer things around my space because it’s never cohesive. But I totally get how you feel! I’ve kind of just resolved myself to whatever will be will be.

  15. Igor Renfield on June 27, 2023 at 3:10 pm

Steffi, sharing space with anyone is tough. You have to take the other person’s likes and tastes into account. It’s not “your” space anymore. That’s one of the reasons I chose to stop living with others unless I get married again (obviously). I’m sending you all the good vibes I have. Good luck! If anyone can make it work, you can.

  16. Kathye Sargent on June 27, 2023 at 3:12 pm

Get out of you head and just get it done❤️❤️❤️❤️

  17. ephrussi9 on June 27, 2023 at 3:13 pm

I know you know – but it looks way too cluttered. Too much furniture. You’ll figure it all out because you’re so talented.

  18. Blue Mer Studios on June 27, 2023 at 3:14 pm

It’s nice to hear you talk about your struggles, though I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with them. I hope even with all the new changes, you continue to find happiness in decorating and sharing your new space.

  19. Donna Jones on June 27, 2023 at 3:18 pm

I was single for 9 years before I married my husband. I warned him I had always made my own decisions and this might take some time. We have been married 34 years so I guess we figured it out.

  20. Sinobiax on June 27, 2023 at 3:19 pm

I love the new space! I do think there is way too much larger furniture congesting the space.

  21. Anna N. on June 27, 2023 at 3:21 pm

The way you decorated your studio was perfection with the dark aesthetic! Now that you’re in a more bright space I think you may want to consider choosing new fabrics. I think moving is still perfect for your channel because you can show how you decorate a new space from scratch, not just moving over the same pillows and bedding.

Whenever you move again I recommend painting first then moving in the next day. Your hair looks beautiful.

If your building has a Facebook group, ask if other people in your unit on different floors can share pics of how they decorated the corner unit.

  22. Jill Engel on June 27, 2023 at 3:23 pm

“Guy Junk” – Ugh! I tend to be somewhat of a neat freak minimalist so it’s a good thing I live alone. WWIII would erupt because a lot of their stuff would need to go. When you move into a new place I think the hardest thing is committing to hanging things up on the walls since they’re freshly painted. Thank gawd for Command Strips. Only had to make one hole in the wall for hanging a heavy mirror. Wish you the best in your new place. You’ll get it together. Remember that it took five years to make your studio fabulous.

  23. ephrussi9 on June 27, 2023 at 3:25 pm

Koby needs to butt out more. He’s sharing his life with you, a talented interior designer who knows what she’s doing. You will always keep him in mind but you need to be creatively unfettered. He needs to support your gift. You don’t need to collaborate this much. It’s crippling and paralysing.

  24. Susan Miller on June 27, 2023 at 3:25 pm

This was a fantastic therapy session, which I have to say came at the perfect time.

  25. The Sustainable Rose on June 27, 2023 at 3:26 pm

  26. Cathrine Zaccaginini on June 27, 2023 at 3:27 pm

But that is ok too.I know you will make this place so great.Keep moving forward and life will move with you.You are a smart woman and this is just what happens.

  27. Cathrine Zaccaginini on June 27, 2023 at 3:33 pm

Alot of this he will not care what you will do with the place.

  28. DW on June 27, 2023 at 3:34 pm

just started the vid but omg your hair looks so lovely rn!!

  29. SCC on June 27, 2023 at 3:36 pm

I can relate. It’s taken about a year and a half to get my place in shape, where it feels like home, after my move.

  30. HottTiger on June 27, 2023 at 3:36 pm

I just came upon your channel, watched this video 1st then your apt tour on Jan 9 2020. Where is your piano in your new apt? Your style is what is you not your previous studio although I think you put your heart into that little place.
In that video every part of the apt was showing your interests like your favorite singers and how you like dark melancholy art. I hope this helps 🙂

  31. Carole lorikeet on June 27, 2023 at 3:37 pm

i understand when you say about change, if you dont like change, everything is hard, but your new apartment looks lovely. i wish you well in future moving forward

  32. Keiko F on June 27, 2023 at 3:37 pm

Girl I am SOOOOO excited for the accent walls!!!!! I already have my guesses for the living room, but I know you guys are gonna blow us away with it! I also wanna say, I hope one day to have a space that gives me that identity-crisis feeling when I leave (does that sound weird?!) I really mean it as a compliment, seeing the immense connection you made with your space is truly how I want to feel with the space I call home. Some recent life changes have given me some freedom to make some decorative and layout changes, so I definitely want to carve out some time to invest back into SASS again! Like you talked about having a strong vision for your apartment, I’m going to start over again and just have fun with the process. And I’m so happy you are back and congrats on the new business! You definitely have such a unique aesthetic that I believe will serve you well in your new venture!!!

  34. Satanen Perkele on June 27, 2023 at 3:45 pm

  35. Mitzi Yu on June 27, 2023 at 3:47 pm

  36. Elvina Shelko on June 27, 2023 at 3:49 pm

    where is the bed/nightstand from?

  37. Beth Lovold on June 27, 2023 at 3:49 pm

I’m sorry to hear about your struggles. But, I really appreciate your honesty. I think it’s relatable to try to find a way to merge your style with a significant other and not feel resentful, or lose yourself. By the way, where did you get the beautiful throw pillow on your bed? The one with the moon and sun.
