Exciting plans guys! We’ve actually spent the last 4 months working our 🍑s off in a salmon factory while living in our van in North Norway 🇳🇴 (Skjervøy 70° North)! No winter experience so far, but be prepared that when the snow comes, lots of free camping spots will be inaccessible and campsites and truckstops will be your best friends! Also plan ahead where you’re going to do your service, in case the watertaps are shut off 🧊 Snow chains will be very helpful as well… We will be leaving the North in a few weeks, hopefully we will bump into each other along the way somewhere!

RE: Cofree maker… I suggest a mokapot plus a Breville Milk Frother. Takes up far less space than a big Espresso machine and way less expensive. And delicious!!!! The mokapot makes great espresso, and the Breville milk frother works great to warm and froth the milk.

Hello from Sweden! Try the Finnish (or Swedish) sauna and then cool down by jumping in a cold lake … this is done all year around as they cut a whole in the ice!

Hey both…. Top tip for you with regards to the Imass heater! We have one and also know of other who do too, if your water pressure is too high it will not heat the water, you need a low pressure system so the water passes through the heating element slowly. Looking at your kitchen tap running it’ll be fine, you might encounter issues when running the shower though if it has high pressure. 👍🏻

I went last year to Arctic Norway, Sweden and Finland in my van . Made a travel series and upgrades series getting ready for the extreme cold last winter. I’m heading back out in January.

Feel free to shoot me a message on instagram, happy to share tips and advise on taking British vans up there and upgrades, things I learnt, all the good and bad points and locations to visit.

At 14 I was very blessed to go to Norway with my mom to visit my brother and sister-in-law and her family. We spent Christmas in Norway they lived in Nesodden. My niece,Trien Rein,
Is a fairly well know pop singer in Norway. Her husband, Lars Monsens, is a well know adventurer and journalist in Norway. No doubt if u Google him you’ll get some great adventuring tips and advice. I live in the US and would love to go back to Norway some day. I’m really looking forward to ur series. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  35. Ingrida on November 2, 2022 at 8:31 am

We have been to Norway twice and each time we fell in love with the country and people. Would definitely recommend – the Reinebringen hike, the views are simply insane. Henningsvær village and Trevarefabrikken. Also Bergsbotn utsiktsplattform, Kvalvika Beach, Hauklandstranda, Lofotr Vikingmuseum. These are the campsites we have been to: Moskenes Camping, Lofoten Beach Camp, Love Camping – Vesterålen Kysthotell, Midnattsol Camping Bleik. Basically, everywhere you go, the beauty of nature blows your mind.

I would also definitely do a tour of Norway’s most beautiful public toilets. They are like an art installation.

Tromsø: Fjellheisen cable car, to see the city from above. Frø cafe – the best vegan fresh buns and coffee. Raketten Bar & Pølse – hot wine by the fire. And the silent whale watching tour. It is a peaceful and breathtaking experience to see whales with the fjords in the background. And finally, Sauna Pust Tromsø – such a relaxing way to spend few hours, sauna with a view and a swim in the cold water.

Norway is something out of this world, we can’t wait to see your adventures. Good luck preparing the van!

    Batten down the hatches lads…

  41. Rebecca Lockley on November 2, 2022 at 8:37 am

I don’t know what it’s like in the Nordic countries, but when I was in the Alps I noticed that even with snow tires, snow chains were still required October-April. So you might want to check! We only camped in a tent in September, so I don’t have many suggestions for van life in the north, but I used to live in a static caravan and one thing I did in the winter was covered the wall behind my bed with a fleece blanket to add some insulation. Maybe you could hang one up when you go to bed for an extra bit of insulation? I’m guessing an electric blanket would use too much power to have, so maybe get a hot water bottle to tuck into bed, too! Sounds like a great adventure, I can’t wait to see more!

  42. Erin on November 2, 2022 at 8:37 am

Your windows are going to leak heat like crazy. I’d see what other people do to keep warm. It’s going to be a real struggle up north. But I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on!! 🇨🇦

  43. Kinging- It on November 2, 2022 at 8:42 am

Glad to be back lads – thanks for waiting for us!
So! If anyones been before – please let us know where we should visit – any animal or water related actives we’ll be WELL up for!
Also – if anyone wants to lend us their dog for 3 months.. we’d appreciate it. Cheers.

  44. Scandi Van on November 2, 2022 at 8:43 am

Oh wow, you`re going to freeze up here with those big windows. Might be an idea to get some polystyrene sheets to cover a few of them at night to increase the R value. Get yourself a good fan heater and hook up Cable, there is plenty of ”ställplatser” open during the Winter to park overnight to plug in for a warm up and to charge everything. Välkommen 🇸🇪🇬🇧👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

  45. Bruno Brussels on November 2, 2022 at 8:44 am

Here’s a very good tip. Take along bubble wrap covers for the inside of custard. There will be a lot of condensation since I presume you have single glazing. The wrap will cling to your windows and it will reduce condensation. It also may be a good idea to buy a Kärcher window cleaner to dry up your windows. And traveling in the cold… don’t forget to air custard !!!

Things you probably already have but just in case…the best oversized duvet you can afford, thick socks, hot water bottles, sachets of hot chocolate, natural fibre hats for sleeping in, lemsip, soft tissues and lots of choc bars for emergencies…you’re bound to have everything else like torches etc..The falling over with the black bag had me laughing out loud…you really should be on the stage lovely..lol 😁
