Note to everyone, you can use coleman slip-on #51 mantles, the Primus ones are hard to find and expensive. The coleman ones can be found just about anywhere.

Hi any idea how to put big mantle on a small gas Primus light? I bought a whole lot from China and they seems to be twice as big as the original. Thanks.

Glad to find this vid. I have not used my Primus lanterns in several years. One problem was the flame was too strong. I had to adjust the little brass nut located in the base to control the amount of gas going up into the mantle.

I bought an easy Primus Easy Light lantern but could not find any stores that sells Primus mantles for spare at our local area. Can I use Coleman or Peerless mantles and is so, what size is the equivalent for it in Coleman?

I just purchased a Micron Lantern.
Within five minutes, the piezo ignition stopped working.
Ten minutes later, the valve stopped working.
The valve can be all the way closed or all the way open, it does not allow any gas into the tube.
I’m using new high quality MSR isobutane and temperature is about 60 degrees F.
    Anyone have tips for me?

You instruct the user "not to switch the gas on just yet" (1:21), when pre-burning the mantle . Then why does the manual of your EasyLight 2245 says the following, and I quote: "Light the mantle with a match or lighter and turn the control knob (2) and keep the burner alight for about a minute until the mantle has formed a white "egg".". Does the user need to keep the gas off or switch it on, when pre-burning the mantle?
