Small Entryway Ikea Makeover Under $150 | My Rental Reno S1 E4

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! Today is episode four of the My Rental Reno series and this one’s highly requested — making over my tiny entryway. I know that a lot of you struggle with basically no entryway and the challenge is, how do you create a space that is used everyday when there’s no real designated space? Each of these solutions use Ikea products that cost under $150 which is a steal if I do say so myself. Of course the way you style it will increase your cost, but I’ve tried to feature as many high/low options as I can so that you can apply these tips in your space, no matter your budget.

can we have something other than IKEA or pompoms??????????????????

  2. Jessica Ho on April 13, 2021 at 2:04 am

For the shoe cabinet, does it stand by itself? Do you need to drill to wall

  3. Ashley on April 13, 2021 at 2:04 am

    Wow vicious

  4. Megan McLelland on April 13, 2021 at 2:06 am

My entryway is in the middle of the living room/kitchen so I don’t have a wall like you do unless I use a wall in line with the doorframe. Any suggestions?

  5. Jackie Fong on April 13, 2021 at 2:09 am

What about entry ways that are flat white walls? 🙁 I want to add texture to the walls, but it’s a rental. so Trying to think of economical ways to add punch. Maybe just painting them? Also the tiles in this foyer are a dark granite kind of situation. I’m more of a fan of light, airy, organic materials.

Unless you put support brackets to hold up the area people are going to be sitting on, that bookshelf is not going to hold anybody’s weight. Unless they’re children or really skinny people. We have Ikea bookshelves and they barely hold the books.

Great ideas, thank you so much 😊

Great tips, I will paint the brick walls to white color. The brick wall delivers feels to the external outside of house.

  19. Lora Wiese on April 13, 2021 at 2:30 am

That color is so pretty on you.

  20. Barbara H on April 13, 2021 at 2:31 am

No one steals your stuff on the landing?

  21. canvnkneemail on April 13, 2021 at 2:31 am

WHY do you hang pictures above eye level? They get lost in the room so high on the wall. Hmmm…

  22. Austrik Aarzu on April 13, 2021 at 2:32 am

    Fine

  25. Barbara Packard on April 13, 2021 at 2:34 am

Awww. I wanted to look for those cute pompom baskets and the link leads you to light bulbs.

  26. Lizzie on April 13, 2021 at 2:34 am

Maybe brace the bookshelf before you sit on it

  27. Campari Soda on April 13, 2021 at 2:35 am

Great ideas – I would put the shoe rack near the bench though, because your landing is so small, and flip the bench for a casual boho chair and also a wood box that can double as a seat or a side table.

  28. justalurkr on April 13, 2021 at 2:40 am

Obviously gonna have to keep the sheepskin for kitty

  29. Vee Leo on April 13, 2021 at 2:41 am

Loll I love how the cat literally checked out every single cubby once she put the bench down! 😂😍

  30. GoYvon on April 13, 2021 at 2:41 am

    Eh…. I didn’t think my math was bad, but I’m 3 minutes in and you’ve already spend more than $150….. 149+25+25+90 = 290.

  31. Mona Skelly on April 13, 2021 at 2:41 am

I love your ideas. You make it simple and bright.

  32. K Crist on April 13, 2021 at 2:43 am

Hi, can you tell me where you got that’s second “open” bench?

  33. Kessia Brown on April 13, 2021 at 2:46 am

What would you recommend for a narrow hallway entryway with stairs on one side, then a coat closet, and a kitchen doorway and wall to separate the kitchen from the hallway on the other? I struggle to keep it looking nice and would love a bench but dont think there’s room for one. Please help!!!

  34. Isaac on April 13, 2021 at 2:47 am

Is it a canadian thing to have your shoes out of your apartment?

  35. Dave's Wreaths and Things on April 13, 2021 at 2:47 am

Such a great idea. Loved how this turned out.

  36. Rosanne Ciccia on April 13, 2021 at 2:47 am

Ideas are good BUT that cabinet in the hall is a fire hazard. Narrows your doorway exit out of the apt! If you are putting the bookcase/bench inside get rid of the hall cabinet and put shoes under the bench. The custom cushion is ok but ditch all the pillows. No one is going to Sit on it. You can add baskets under the bench storage of other items. Just my opinion

I’m moving into a studio, where basically the bed will be right when you walk in, and the entry way will be the space behind the door. Very small. How can I create division in that space?!

  46. aiya de los angeles on April 13, 2021 at 2:58 am

Can’t always say that you do budget conscious makeover because you get your stuff at Ikea, okay?!…it’s not a thrift store, so how can you let your viewers pattern your stuff with their’s?, remember viewers are after "budget friendly" stuffs.

  47. canvnkneemail on April 13, 2021 at 2:59 am

Bookshelf is BEST bench. Great storage. Needs storage baskets.

  48. justalurkr on April 13, 2021 at 2:59 am
