Finally! Someone who showed the right order to shop for home decor. I’ve always wondered why people went to TJ Maxx first. I love the store but they should not be 1st pick because they can be a bit more pricey for some of the same things you can find at Ross. I will say though that I would add Burlington Coat Factory if you have one in your area. Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx, and then Target of course. Love your videos!

Oh, I see you have lots in fireplace so forget basket just paint inside black.
I refresh my space about once a year. Many of my pieces come from the garbage. I went on my city’s website and found the garbage pickup schedule. The night before I make my rounds and collect really amazing things. Just a couple weeks ago someone threw a $500 KitchenAid mixer in the trash. It was clean like new and worked excellent. I have gotten tons of furniture from the trash and sole many pieces. Check apartment dumpsters at the end of the month when many are moving out. Another thing I do is attend auctions. There is an auction place near me that gets returns and discontinued items from stores like Target and Lowes. You can get a perfectly good items to renovate with. I got a $300 toilet for $5. I bought my 2 kids beds and nightstands for $15 because they were IKEA displays. When I shop I make a beeline for the clearance rack first. In stores like Target and Walmart look for yellow tags/flags and on endcaps (end of aisles). If you want cheap bedroom stuff over the next couple weeks you will see many items go on clearance once the college students have settled into their dorms. Paint always gives you the biggest bang for your buck. I also save there whenever possible and check the opps rack at Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot nearly every time I go in there even if I don’t have paint on my list. At my store I befriended the paint counter people and would get a gallon as low as $1. I recently ordered items to redo my space with from Zulily and saved $60 on my quilt compared to the same one at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Paint the inside of your fireplace black. If it were real it would be black. You could get a basket and put some birch logs in it and place basket in front of fireplace. You will be impressed, promise.

A duvet cover is cheaper, I try to keep the same comforter and just change the duvet cover when I want a different look. Over the years I have collected a lot of comforters and they are harder to store
1st time viewer, great video! In the name of Jesus I’ll be decorating a new home in the near future and slowly but surely I’ll decorate it to my dream home(and not feel like it has to be done all at once)
