In today’s full time RV living, solo travel van life travel vlog, we discuss some things they don’t tell you about living in a van conversion and camper van life. So I have been living in a van for almost 4 months now. I have really enjoyed Rv living and camping in my Winnebago Travato camper van. But there are some van life realities that aren’t really discussed or highlighted in the #vanlife community.
I won’t spoil what is in the video but it was so fun to make a video about some of the things that they don’t tell you about living in a van and camper van life. Solo travel, van life is also it’s own unique digital nomad lifestyle.
When I bought this van I had watched all the rv living and van life stuff. I love Cheap RV Living, We’re the Russos and so many others. But there are some channels out there that really glamorize this life — and for good reasons living in an van and tiny house on wheels has it glamor but sometimes, folks don’t share what it’s really like RV living in a van. Full time rv living is also it’s own unique camping experience with it’s unique challenges and quirks. I’ll talk about these van life challenges and camper van quirks!

you absolutely right about every single thing you mentioned in this videos..the one thing I hate is when stupid people live garbage 🗑 all over the place that’s uncalled for…God be decent people 🙏..but every thing else i love..I do it for weekends 🤪
We shower every day but remember is just 2 or 3 days. I have 60 gallons tank and an extra
39 gallon on my roof rack..so I’m good and is just my wife and me.
And I’m thinking on doing my shower water recirculating system. Because 60 plus 39 gallons of water sounds like a lot
But between cooking and showering 99 gallons of water 💧
Go fast and we take shower in the morning and before we eat diner.
Because with the heat 🔥 and you doing all kinds of things during the they specially fishing you sweat a lot..thanks for your videos bro

Great video with realistic realities. Get mail General Delivery at any post office. There’s no fee.
Excessive compulsive people keep their feet clean.
Bugs will not kill you like some big predators.
Have had windstorms at my house.
A lot of truck stops will only give showers if you have a CDL or frequent fuel program
Amazon lockers.

On water, I was thinking a hose with a high end pump put in a river and then filtered/uv OR same thing with Rain Water collection, thats what I have designed to go onto my van I will start soon as I get back to the states. Anyone else do these?
Dirty shoes , take them off outside the van or leave them on the rubber Matt where you drive , trash , cut it up ,Bugs use insect repellent, noise wear ear plugs.packages somethings are worth sacrificing for a better life. Take showers at petrol station then fill up, or use water purification from a river to refill water tank.
I’ve noticed that Amazon has an option of a pick-up place now. Not sure if its available everywhere.

You could just have your Amazon packages delivered to the nearest Amazon locker in the area.

New subscriber here, in the year I have been on the road I haven’t had any problem with bugs, YET. One thing you didn’t mention was the wind. I’ve only had three days of rain and a half a day of scary snow on a mountain road, in a whole year! I have been blessed with beautiful sunshiny days almost every single day. However, the wind has made me stay in one spot several times for over at least 2 days at a time. I don’t think most people realize when you drive a van 🚐, you shouldn’t drive in winds over 25 miles an hour. I use the highway weather app frequently to avoid high winds. 😎🚐🥾
Leaving in 3 weeks……. where would you go first…..? I’m from Wisconsin if it makes a difference, because I can’t seem to decide.
I love them water bags. I bet I got 8 Platypus.. They don’t take up any space once empty…And they are antibacterial.
But yeah.. You start RV life. You will need 3 things. A garbage can with lots of bags. A little sweeper and >Clorox Bleach wipes<. If you can find them. You will use them everyday…..
How do you store the water holes when you are in transit?
Maybe you can experiment with reduced or even zero waste.

Most people don’t know they can have anything sent to yourself in c/o General Delivery to any U.S Post Office, they don’t charge and they will hold it until you show up with your ID to claim it. I used in c/o General Delivery to Post Offices many times when I was in the military.
Nothing like having your own bathroom and shower instead of getting up in the middle of a cool night to relieve your self or slither yourself around a coffin size Prius to sit on a bucket. Yeah sounds adventurous and lots of fun.

What are your thoughts on a recirculating shower?
I’ve seen videos where people who have to be close to their job will sign up for a gym or a swimming pool where they can work out and shower. There are also national chains so if you travel around you can go and shower. I guess it would be cool if they had washers and dryers, but good luck convincing them that people who go to work out also wish to do their laundry there 🙂
