    Omfg muricans.

Why the heck dontcha got an over head tank. Why oh why those pressurised vessel abominations.
    You waste too much energy.

Also don’t understand the reasoning for HARDENED batteries when your house is made of freaking wood!!!!

And instead of using those ugly AC units how about trying a heat pump , would be much much better.

You can easily harden stuff, just cover it and bury it.

  4. Jeff on August 22, 2021 at 10:20 pm

    What would this cost

  5. Main Law Cafe WV on August 22, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Your reasoning not to use lithium is specious.

  6. Noel Sharp on August 22, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Very interesting what was said about EMP hardening being difficult for Lithium batteries; makes sense with the complex battery management systems required for those setups. Thatโ€™s something I never thought about, thanks!

  7. P Renoso on August 22, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Could you elaborate on the EMP effects on batteries and how you harden the lead acid one? What little research I’ve done indicates batteries are not really impacted so would like to hear more on the topic.

Hello I am from Brazil, I do not speak the language I used a google translator, so do not fix the errors.
and shadows are not problems for the generation?
here in Brazil we don’t have batteries of excellence, and the ones that exist are too expensive …

  13. Gene Miller on August 22, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Nice set up. I wouldnโ€™t suggest you say undisclosed location. That challenges the trolls to find it. Your video provides everything needed.

  14. Only Science on August 22, 2021 at 10:33 pm

The title should be 100% off-grid propane, the reality is that you need 3 times more batteries, inverters and panels $$$$$ to power this large house on real off-grid solar.

I’m not trying to be funny here and I hate it with all my heart to say, but Alabama is a VERY politically corrupt state. While we vote for the PSC members the truth is big power is the ones who pick the members. PSC is the gov’t agency that regulates them. What they want, they get, what they don’t want, they make illegal. Anything that cuts into their profits is viewed as evil. They just voted to increase the fees for having residential solar on homes tied into the grid. They make sure that any saving you might get from solar is paid back to them. You can still get by with going total off grid but don’t be surprise if it’s not outlawed soon also. As many others states move forward, Alabama is stuck in the 1950’s. Only rich people can use solar here in Alabama by going total off grid. The working people who need it the most can not benefit from it and it’s because of one word, GREED.

In the middle of all those trees, how much usable sun do you get maybe 12pm – 4pm?

  28. Your Name Goes Here on August 22, 2021 at 10:58 pm

You ripped this guy off with lead acid batteries just to replace them again in 2 years and loads of battery maintenance.

  29. JimmyDevere on August 22, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Where are the how to videos? If this is DIY I have not seen anything that walks you through connections, wiring etc.

  30. James Dory on August 22, 2021 at 11:00 pm

I’d love to see that cabin on a ICF basement 12 feet deep with a bulkhead door on the side that goes down into an Atlas Shelter. That would be a monster dig and add a half million in cost, but if SHTF it’d be awesome to have those options.

  31. jack mcminn on August 22, 2021 at 11:01 pm

When I win the lottery gona have an off grid place like this

  32. Mark Hutchins on August 22, 2021 at 11:01 pm

Enjoy your videos. Quality work. That summer heat and humidity are tough. Working in the shade is not so bad, though.

  33. william grissom on August 22, 2021 at 11:03 pm

I would love to see a donated dream home with all the things to make it work for a disabled guy like me.
Ok, I know I’m just dreaming. But I sure wish my dream could come true. I’ve dreamed about this for decades. I’ve dreamed about this underground home for me, for so many years, that it should have become reality by now. I’m so serious, that I would give up my privacy to video cameras, to live my dream of underground living with all of the upgrades in under ground living. A clothes washer and dryer and a dish washer and dryer would be the 2 biggist worries not counting cooking food and such.

I have a question. What happens if you need to pull the water well pump. I love that it is inclosed but….. is there a roof hatch or something to get a pump pulling rig in there? Thanks for your answer.
