Take a tour around 1930s art deco time capsule house

Aaron Whiteside, 36, transformed his modest three-bedroom semi – built in 1937 – into a 1930s themed home. The bachelor from Blackpool, Lancashire, recalls browsing junk shops aged five, picking up an old radiogram, hoover, mincers and gas lamps during trips with his grandmother’s sister. Since then he has slowly become enamoured with the decade’s style and way of life. He bought his current home for £87,000 in 2007 after it had stood empty for nearly a decade. The enthusiast has worked tirelessly to transform the house – installing German wallpaper (main picture) which was buried in a time capsule in the 1930s and cost him £100 a roll.

Darn it! I have seen such a bedroom before! A great grandfather of mine, he was born in 1898, his bedroom looked almost exactly like this! Since he must have been in his late 20ies during the time of Art Déco, it also fits the time period, it is very likely he bought the furniture back then. Great video!
