Gordon wants to talk to Alan about the decor at Ruby Tates, and possible changes that can be made, but there is no getting through to him. Gordon feels it looks like something ‘Jimmy Saville would keep his jewellery in’ and the knickers on the wall are just ridiculous. For a man in such financial trouble, Alan should be a little more willing to compromise.

A few seconds in and I hear the sentence "it’s time for the knickers to come off". After a brief moment to process that I concluded it must be an expression I didnt know. I even felt silly for considering there could be some knickers on the wall of this restaurant. But… there they are afterall 😂😂😂
The way Gordon says "It’s time for the knickers to come off" is so funny to me, I don’t know why.

I almost assumed he was the painter what with how vehemently he was defending them- and besides the personality that decides flipping out at Gordon Ramsay is probably the same kind of personality that decides crusty underwear is a good artistic choice! I DO think that you could get one or two paintings like that to look nice in a restaurant, as long at the rest of the decor was plain enough to balance it out. I’ll pass on the pants and undies though!

I must have shitty taste cause I actually like the painting/decor combo… the only thing is, everything that’s cream colored should be pure white. Would make it look more like a ‘gallery’.

I actually like Alan. He calls Ramsay out on his shit. I understand what the latter’s trying to do, and to be fair, Alan did ask him there, but Gordon really has to work on his delivery when it comes to anything other than food.

So what if Gordon Ramsay isn’t God? I mean, he may not be God but he’s still passionate when it comes to restaurants and cooking.
Isn’t the owner of the restaurant that guy from wheeler dealer’s?
Yeap, there is a pub near me that does really nice meals but they have awful art that just puts you off your food. One of the paintings looks like a giant vag. Bleeding. Decor and ambiance are just as important as food. Restaurant owners need to learn to keep their personal taste at home and keep it clean cut in the restaurant to appeal to the mass market and bring the money in.
