The 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing

The 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing

On today’s episode we take you around the country with us to explore the top 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing. We visited 40 states and traveled more than 16,000 miles with our RV in 2018. During that time we stayed at more than 100 places ranging from RV resorts to Walmart parking lots and everything in between. Almost every single state park we camped in was incredible, so we challenged ourselves to pick our ten favorite. We even have a bonus entry at the end of our list – a National Park that we were able to fit our 37′ rig into!

Let us know your favorite state parks in the comments! If you’ve stayed at any of the ones on our list, let us know: what did you think?

Elephant Butte is beautiful. Went to surprise my mom for her birthday, a solo full-timer at the time, there about 15 years ago. TRC aka, Truth or Consequences, NM is a quant town. Saw quite a few jackrabbit in the park also.

  23. Rich Greenwood on October 2, 2021 at 8:31 am

In my backyard of Wisconsin is Point Beach state park. Each site is roomy and surrounded by trees, so you have privacy. It sits right on lake Michigan so a climb over the dunes gets you on the beach. Be forewarned though, Lake Michigan is cold and is only swim-able from July 1st thru Sept 30th. Although in the forest, it is near many attraction near Green Bay, so a good place to stay and visit.

  27. All The Best Things Come By The Dozen -Rachel on October 2, 2021 at 8:35 am

Whenever you make your way to Texas again you have to check out Padre Island National park. We were able to camp on the beach with our 43 ft 5er. It was Amazing! It is boondocking, but you have nice sites directly on the gulf with picnic tables and a bathhouse. Also, just a few miles away at Mustang Island they have campsites with hookups at the state park. We absolutely love it in that area! We don’t make YouTube videos, but we have been traveling with our kiddos for years due to my husbands job requiring 98% fulltime travel. I’m loving your videos! Particularly all your rv show videos. Most of the youtubers will just create one rv show video, with just a few tours of their favorite rigs. I loved that you guys showed idk, like 30 rigs lol.

  32. Exploring Land and Sea on October 2, 2021 at 8:41 am

Great video guys. My wife and I go full time RVing in April. Our list of mu go to places just keeps getting longer and longer. That is a good thing by the way. Haha. Thanks for sharing.

  33. Hookdem on October 2, 2021 at 8:44 am

Nice job guys. However, you do realize what you think is nice because of the kid-friendly areas, or number of playgrounds is NOT appealing to many of us. Kid-friendly would be a big zero.

In Wisconsin, there’s a couple of state parks you should check out. One is Devils lake state park. Another is Mirror lake. If you ever get to Devils lake, it’s a beautiful park. If your kids love trains, you might see one come through the park. There is a freight line that comes through the park.

  38. Deb and Rich Park on October 2, 2021 at 8:46 am

Wyoming would be my favorite vacation state..

  48. ElaineVegan on October 2, 2021 at 8:57 am

Shout out for Nevada state parks. Here’s why: anyone can buy an all access annual pass. It costs about $200 per year but it allows access to the state parks plus FREE camping in all the state parks that offer camping. Many state park systems only offer passes for residents and/or their passes don’t include camping, so this is a really great deal. If the campground has electricity or other hookups then you have to pay an extra $10/night. Most campgrounds are first come first serve and there’s often a 14 day limit. That is really cheap camping in beautiful, safe locations.

  49. CharlesinGA on October 2, 2021 at 8:57 am

Thank you for this list. Looks like some super parks to stay in.
