My Mum told me of some of the things some girls would do to get a set of nylons out of a US soldier. Some would grant favours beyond appropriateness (nudge nudge, wink wink) in order to obtain a pair.
I would love this bedroom. Just the right size for me.
I may sound as an idiot, but at least that’s sincere: 0:56 kitty! I had a black cat like that when I was a child 🙂
I would be happy with a little room like this, it’s pretty.
When a German parachuted and landed nearby, the women would cut up said chute for its material for clothing.
Women would also paint lines on back of legs to imitate stocking seams.
even during war women tried to look their best. Now they can’t be bothered to change out of their pajamas before going out…smh..
Even though this was in 2012 I wish they would’ve done a bathroom.
My late auntie was 15 when the war ended.
My auntie was saying that women
who couldn’t get hold of stockings would try to tan their legs, and draw a line down the back of their legs to replicate the seams in the stocking.
Wow, nowadays everyone has giant Rooms.
Such a simple time then, materially speaking!
My Grandfather used to say a G.I. could get anything from any girl anywhere for a pair of stockings!
This room is COSY as hell.
