What an amazing video and amazing insights on the lifestyle. Thanks for sharing
Most of them were just faking it anyway.
Did vanlife in a transit. About a year and half. Amazing. (Because I wasn’t driving an old junk van) Never intended to live in it forever.
doing laundry is a painful event? so if you lived in a house, would it be the same ‘painful event’? oh the drama… lol
The truth and the real reason is that most YouTube Vanlifers did it for the fame and money and YouTube does not pay much for Vanlife anymore. Trend is over. Real Vanlifers don’t care. So if you say everyone is quitting it is not true. Only so called influencers quit and are off to a new trend and no one cares.
โBecause you live in a van. Down by the river!โ
People in my neighborhood they are selling 800-17 million dollars houses , no surprise that people selling their van
The people that quit "van life" usually started out doing it as a fad. The "fad" is over now.
Seasonal work is a interesting van-life plus roots in 1-2 locations mix.
Wish I had the expenses to do so.
these videos are pretty stupid, from people who never accepted VanLife
for what it is beforehand & now they
Quit because: oh it’s just now what
we thought it would be because they
took they’re ques from YouTube and
That’s They’re First Mistake. Inability
to Adapt Inability to handle Adversity
This is so Typical. I live in my Suv and
Travel. Prior to this I was a Long Haul
Truck Driver, So Living in a Vehicle is
for me… Seemless & Easy. Everyone
Else is Stupid. ๐๐๐ Including U.
I’ve always been in my home town and being 20 never leaving the west coast it’s infuriating me. So many people talk about vegas trips or traveling the world and i sit there with nothing but being stuck inside. I really wanna get my drivers license and get myself a truck since currently im getting 4 days off in a row working 12 hours 3 days a week which honestly is perfect for me! I could drive to different beaches and places even 1 or 2 states out easily and make sure im back home for work on the weekends. I want to see the world and meet people!!!
Awesome video! Good luck with the van building business
Yes ., yโall need a van or SUV.
Grass is always greener on the other side – unknown –
There’s other ways to be nomadic with out a car
No theyโre not. Nobody is quitting van life, more people are transitioning to it, because itโs too expensive to rent a one bedroom apartment.
more negative vids about it ..realestate agencies unhappy ?
Everyone isn’t quitting vanlife. Someone quit, someone’s journey begins. Same with apartments and houses…change happen. Folks get tiresnof Apts for different reasons, folks get tired of houses etc. Same thing. No lifestyle is perfect. They all have their pros and cons.

That video was right on. Iโve experienced what you described and am coming to terms with my traveling addiction and its associated costs.
The only valid reason I see to live this lifestyle is to go a few years while working so you can stack your paychecks instead of throwing them away on rent. Save up a down payment and get into a spacious house.
This is the most "first world problems" video I’ve ever seen in my life
Honest qustion from old guy……how are you getting money for gas?
I get wanting the freedom to go where I like, when I please, for weeks or even months at a stretch. But even when I’m in that away-from-home mode, the travel was all about getting somewhere really cool where I want to spend days or weeks, not burning a lot of gas, and on the same grocery budget (and foods) that I have at home. For me, the only cost of travel is the fuel to get there and back. It’s never a daily expense, except at the front and back end of the trip.
I think you guys were in a unique situation, where the bus life/van life was an integral part of your livelihood.
Seems to me that you learned a lot about van life and custom builds that will make your factory more successful. You have insight on do’s and don’t’s that you otherwise wouldn’t have. I think the perfect balance for you, right now, is just what you’re doing, with your next priority being how to structure your operation so that the factory can run itself for short or long stretches. That’d be the ultimate. Maybe you’ll be able to just shutter the place after you’ve finished an order or a few orders. Ideally, though, you will find good people to join you and stay loyal to you, so you CAN leave and things don’t fall apart.
The one thing you can’t do on the road is grow a garden. "You’re never closer to God than when your hands are in the dirt." From a sign a little old lady in a trailer park put on a pole in her garden. Now that you’re settling down, even just a little, start gardening in a small or large way. Maybe just a few flowers along the border, a planter on the porch, or a window box. It’s good for the soul, whatever your religion, and I bet it’s something you don’t get to do living the van life.
May I suggest truly learning what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, then trusting it, surrendering your life to him, and then sharing it with others?
Then you will have the answer to your purpose that is beyond this life, not to mention you will gain the presence of God in your life as well as eternal love in heaven.
It gets old after awhile. Trying to find an inexpensive place to park and the cost of everything.
Very insight words on why people leave van life. I believe it is cycle you start out looking for adventure, then the need for some stability, then you develop a purpose to move to the next stage of life (family, business, personnel discovery) once reached the cycle starts over.
And the reason why young people quit vanlife is because it’s so FAKE. And they get smacked in the head with reality and they can’t hack it.
Bottom line your man aint mechanical ๐
They quit because it’s van life.
Very smart young woman.
Home loans are not high.
Anything below 5 o/o is low. I paid 10 o/o in ”78.
I’m 66. I’ll be doing it by this summer as I have no other place to go. I’m priced out of everywhere.
Iโm 19 and I want to do the van life for a year with my mom to travel to every state. Then when weโre done, we can pick a state to live in. We have no extended family (as they are abusive) and I want her to see the world. Thank you for this information! ๐ฅฐ
when ever you feel down about Van life, rent an apartment . First month of rent and utilities: Youโll remember why you went the van route.
yawn
I camped in buses and trucks for over twenty five years, then camped in Philippines for four years.
Now back in america for a while in a truck camper.
Some can live simple and cheap, some never learn how to make it work.
The trick is to learn to make some money using the internet. I am almost 82 now,. No plans to quit the simple life.
Because it was a bunch of YouTube want to bees ๐ that thought they where going to make a killing on YouTube and didn’t.
It’s the best thing ever I think I hope more people stop screwing everything up for everyone else. Cuz van lifers have made it harder for others. They stay longer than the 16 days allowed they have no problem set up right next to someone else even if there isn’t a camp spot for them. Not all but alot are dirty an need a bath. We have places that were shut down to camping cuz of them. So I say the fewer the better nature an others need a break from there selfishness.
What a bullcrap channel
Millennials man always so entitled the coffee machine in my 100k van broke causes massive depression I donโt have $300 to fill my gas guzzling money maker. Depression. Me struggling with a ton of debt because I got fired from my job because I was hospitalized from a serious disease where my brain boiled at one point. Fired because I missed to much time and yes here in Pennsylvania they are aloud to fire you for that. No unemployment either because I was fired. But hey at least Iโm alive and still hitting everyday head on
They stopped making good money off of it, would be my guess, making it not worth the hassle.
I dont get how people have so much money to buy all this stuff/cars…
Granted my comment is just a guess as I haven’t watched your video but is the reason everyone is quitting van life because it is awful living in a small vehicle?
I appreciate the honesty and vulnerability! Also, Iโm sad because my wife and I want to go full time van life ๐ข
Van life is good until you run out of money. End of story.
I think itโs because it really isnโt something space wise you want to do forever. But great for a while!
๐โโ๏ธ clickbait .. Not everyone is leaving .. van life at all . Some have done it long time n moving on .. others are just embarking on it .and all depends on how it was being funded
Cos in the majority of the country they haven’t got the police mentality you’d be knocked up about 3 in the morning telling you to be on ya way that’s here in England only a few places where you can live a van life but it’s changing
I wouldnโt do it from beginning, because of fuel consuming with the big bus like this
…van life = no home. Legally if you live out of your care you are homeless…
It’s NOT a sustainable life. Especially if you want a family. I still don’t know why it was glorified.
