My real question how do you comfortable have sex in a van? I’m serious because most of those van beds look to low fo the ground or small to be doing any activities on.

I was kinda hoping that I could be one of those who make money off of video making or writing ect…. Otherwise my life saving will dwindle to nothing eventually and I’ll end up back at my crap factory job until I’m 80. But yea I’m not 20 and sexy so none of these genXers and millennials care what a 43 year old man is doing.

Van life is hard, you have to spend more on food because there’s no space for a full fridge or space for for groceries.

  7. Evilynnrose OneAndOnly on July 26, 2021 at 9:15 pm

Loved the editing and the fact it gives many lots to think about while trying to stay open minded. Nice to see someone covering the hidden truths we can’t share in 5 sec videos LoL. Ty for this upbeat yet serious point of view.

The documentary was o.k. up to the man bun. Then lost all credibility.

I havent seen one van like when i was a twirp in the 70’s. These kids are just another west coast fad. We had flames on black vans with dice hanging from the rear view mirror, coolers for beer, mag wheels, threw a bed in the back and fishing poles with no shoes on. The romantisized version is todays pampered kids wanting to make money looking like a complete retard online. They cant even change there own oil or tires. We had gatherings to help each other work on engines, not just smoke a bowl with a propane on/off grill. No tvs, no phones, no maps even! What a change in a spoiled social security society.

  13. Roger Minter on July 26, 2021 at 9:25 pm

I love this. I’ve been homeless. If I get my way, I will be again.

  14. Gregg Tilghman on July 26, 2021 at 9:25 pm

I used to subscribe to FLORB but after I first heard Dylan Magaster say what he did about van life being a "young person’s game", I immediately unsubscribed from his channel. I’m 57 and back in the 80’s when I was in high school, my biology teacher lived in his 69 Dodge Sportsman van since Woodstock! I lived in my 68 Ford Econoline van through parts of the 80s and 90s. My dad bought the van from the telephone company equipment auction for $200 and gave it to me and I fixed it up to live in. I know a guy that’s lived in a van, now an RV for 40 years! Such arrogance from Dylan, he doesn’t even know van life history.

  15. iamawesomeprods on July 26, 2021 at 9:26 pm

I think it’s nice to see people in this video that don’t have those “dream van life builds” that I often see on my Instagram and with popular van life you tubers. Like the reality is if you are moving into a van for it be cheaters than housing than you probably wouldn’t have one of the “dream van builds”.

  16. MrNightpwner on July 26, 2021 at 9:28 pm

"What’s up van life" "this is where the magic happens" "they don’t sponsor I just really like it" he hits all the generic lines.

  17. Pixel Soulmate on July 26, 2021 at 9:28 pm

I live in a motorhome, sadly it’s in repair…. this is fucking hilarious!

I don’t want to be homeless. So I am a like a turtle. I take my home with me.

I didn’t choose the homeless life, the homeless life chose me.

  18. FYF LIFE on July 26, 2021 at 9:29 pm

Van life is a poor man’s game. RV life is a middle income man’s retirement dream. If the picket fence was easy to attain, It you could build it with plywood, and not a 9 to 5, student loan debt, and hard work, van life wouldn’t exist.

  19. George Kopylov on July 26, 2021 at 9:30 pm

    This is so well done!

Nice to see real people tell real things not just youtube and instagram people trying to seem like their life is perfect because they’re trying to keep their channel famous.

I want to live in a van to not have arrogant noisy upstair neighbours anymore and to be able to talk to the trees last thing of the day and first thing in the morning.

  29. Cindy Dez on July 26, 2021 at 9:39 pm

Vanlife began with retired couples and singles that worked hard their whole life. The younger generation is just following earlier and can do so because of social media nowadays.

  32. benson098123 on July 26, 2021 at 9:42 pm

Always had a home to go to but as a kid we sometimes lived in a small pop up trailer in gravel pits as my father worked road construction. I loved it we were camping 🙂. As a young adult I worked construction and lived in tiny RVs, motor homes, in gravel pits and towns. Coldest day -35c.

Sometimes washing in a tiny sink with no running water or electricity. Others hooked up to town water and sewar next to a hotel using a buddies shower.
It’s possible to live this way all year long but the latest I did it was December 15 in Canada. Back again in spring for work.

It’s not glamorous or life altering or spiritual as an adult. As a kid parked by the river it was amazing.

It costs more to live in a RV park then it does to live in my first house. Unless your stealth camping, have free use of land, it can be pricy.

A new rv, van, or camper is very expensive and will loose half its value in a couple years and almost all of its value in 10 years. We bought older campers cheap, lived in them, often sold them at a break even a few later. One became a storage shed.

A cheap old camper or rv that you can set up some where free can make a great short term home.

  36. PJ Celeste on July 26, 2021 at 9:47 pm

2021 and I think there will be a huge movement to living out of a vehicle as the housing crisis increases and the homeless population explodes. It’s about being mentally prepared, embracing minimalism, and if/when you find yourself feeling down about your circumstances ponder what life was like 200 years ago.

  37. The Tower of Tarot on July 26, 2021 at 9:48 pm

I thought for sure the montage of you walking through the forest in a wet suit was just going to end without reaching any water source.

  38. Michael Bing on July 26, 2021 at 9:48 pm

Well, if you actually believe that social media is reality, you are bound to become disappointed. Social media is nothing but a fake marketing outlet, where everybody gets to parade their fake facades showing how "amazing" life, living on a constant high.

  39. Starbug Mechanic on July 26, 2021 at 9:51 pm

I wonder how many people do cross country delivery stuff like U-ship to pay for this kind of lifestyle.

  40. your wife's boyfriend on July 26, 2021 at 9:51 pm

dude, for the bathroom & showerm just go to the gym or get a gym membership. or go to those asian public bath houses (they’re chill as fuck especially the ones with the saunas.)

  41. Patricia Ann Demello on July 26, 2021 at 9:55 pm

Van life for 90% of people =#homelessness. People make the best of the situation they’re given.

  42. Richard G on July 26, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Confused as to why so many people voted this video down . Is it because it pricks the dream some have ? Personally feel people thinking of trying the van life SHOULD see a bit of the less positive side .

It’s not homeless, look around and see what homelessness really looks like. Sleeping on cardboard, with newspapers for a blanket in an alley or stoop. There are places where local governments are dealing with homeless people by building them 8 x 8 tiny homes for two.

  50. Lifealacarte on July 26, 2021 at 10:05 pm

If you’re chained to social media, you’re not free. I can’t imagine everyday looking at how popular my life/photos/thoughts were to complete strangers, or worse, having a livelihood depending on other people’s “likes”. Bottom line: do what you love, do no harm and be authentic to YOU. Unplugged. I just rolled with laughter at your parody, though, 20 minutes in: attachable man bun, “these are my lights, this is my garage”…”not purposely going anywhere, but seeing everything”…”travel helps you figure out who you are – even if you weren’t wondering”…classic 🤣
