Buttonwood does look awesome! Knoebels has been on my list for a couple years now. I’ve heard that the main campground is a little noisy and that the further one (Lakewood?) is better. But I haven’t been to either yet.

We have been going to Knoebels for the past eight years. We do not stay at the park campground though. We stay at J&D Campground which is about two miles away. J&D is a great campground. It is very basic, has a small pool, playground, fishing pond and mini golf. But it is quiet, and the sites are a good size and it is taken care of very well. Plus it’s only like $55 a night for full hook ups with cable!! Check them out.

  21. Dave Mi on September 28, 2022 at 7:14 am

When my children were young we’d camp at knoebels campground they loved it ! That camp grounds are clean and safe the amusement park is wonderful ! My children enjoyed the park more than our trip to Disney world it’s definitely a must go for family fun

  22. Cummins Camping on September 28, 2022 at 7:15 am

Good job. Don’t know if you have heard of the Mohican River in eastern Ohio, but there are several campgrounds and a State park along the river, Buttonwood reminds me of that area. Waldameer is similar to kenoebels as you only pay for what you want to do. Waldameer is in Erie PA. right at the opening to Presque Isle.

I’ve been wanting to camp at Stoney Fork Creek ever since I hunted that area.years ago. And we love camping at Knoebels

  24. tbdrummer67 on September 28, 2022 at 7:16 am

Buttonwood is upwards of $75 per night for RV sites. Far too expensive.

  25. Uno Latino on September 28, 2022 at 7:17 am

This is really useful. Thank you

  26. Richard Alexander on September 28, 2022 at 7:22 am

    Why call RV parks campgrounds?

  27. R B G on September 28, 2022 at 7:24 am

just because your next to an amusement park doesn’t mean the campground is wonderful. Its Ok but not the greatest.

  31. Moondance, RVing Gone to the Dogs on September 28, 2022 at 7:28 am

We just stayed at Stoney Fork Creek last weekend…it wasn’t horrible but we won’t go back. All the seasonal/full time spots are the best, if they have a "best", but the other spots were VERY tight and close together and you sit looking at peoples rigs and trucks no real view at your site or privacy. Nice people but not for us.

I used to live in the Town of Mexico. Pa moved out after the 1972 Agnes flood. Use to fish right on the small beach on the river there. .Camp Ground was there then.
I believe it was a different name.
