Thank you for not ending every sentence with a high octave, like so many others❤️❤️

  3. Robyn Taylor on January 6, 2022 at 2:05 pm

I love the color sage. I painted my kitchen nook that color a couple years ago. It has since been repainted a buttery yellow.

  4. Wendy K on January 6, 2022 at 2:06 pm

Still love my dark floors, I think they’re timeless… A few months ago we redid our laundry room and I chose a dark green, it looks fabulous and now trendy also lol

  8. Cheyenne Sutton on January 6, 2022 at 2:10 pm

Nice video. I like many of the ideas. I will pass on the sage green color of the year. I’m not a fan of green, whether home decor and furniture, or clothes.

Boho is my vibe and that will never go out of style for me.

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Emily Liles on January 6, 2022 at 2:10 pm

Wasn’t this trending last year too?

  10. Janet Yukich on January 6, 2022 at 2:14 pm

    Kristen,
If I paint my walls a warm white and then use the pure white for trim and doors, what colour do I paint my kitchen cupboards?

  11. T Buchanan on January 6, 2022 at 2:15 pm

Thank you for this update. I love the Sage green but I don’t like a lot of the other trends. I don’t like the curved furniture but I do love how soft it looks. I personally don’t like dark wall colors though I can see why some people might. While I love the lighter color flooring, it’s disappointing because I have darker reddish color flooring that I’ve just talked myself into liking because I can’t afford to replace them. LOL

I don’t particularly like the traditional style trends of the artwork but I do like the direction of going in a warmer tone. I’m personally a type of person that likes to change a lot and I’m currently embracing an eclectic style that is mixing all sorts of trends in my whole house. It’s a mess but I love it. Though it’s not for everybody. I do get the occasional advice to pick a style. Keep up the great work. You are doing fantastic! Keep your modesty too. That’s what makes you so likable!

What kind of dried floral you have on your back?😍 I love how it looks on the vase

I’m doing a full home renovation and everything you said was what I was planning to do to my home. Nice to know that what I was planning is on trend.

  15. dazlette on January 6, 2022 at 2:22 pm

love the sage!! Kristen, I really like the moldings u put on wall. Have u seen the 20 in by 20 in foam ceiling tiles that u put up w caulk/ glue? They are so cool. I covered a popcorn ceiling in bedroom with them. Antique ceiling tiles. Check em out. Let me know what u think.

Thanks for the video it was really informative. I cannot stop to feel a bit overwhelmed and stressed bc I feel like anything I do this year will be out of style very soon so I guess I’ll just take inspo from the amazing tips and ideas you gave and just create a timeless decor for my home that feels good

  22. Zulema Pearce on January 6, 2022 at 2:35 pm

I have ALWAYS LOVED picture window walls! And ceiling medallions. Thanks Kristen

  23. phangirlable on January 6, 2022 at 2:39 pm

And I get that smart homes are convenient but sometimes I feel people are not interested enough in what the constant switched on devices could do to our health and also the security and date protection/privacy risk. At a certain point you are creating a home that can be remotely hacked, switched on and off, looked into and listened to and opened by ppl who specialize in hacking those system (and there will be ppl who specialize in that).

Let’s not be a wasteful society….look for timeless and classy décor, rather than trendy!

  29. Malgorzata Bujnarowski on January 6, 2022 at 2:47 pm

Oh, America, you are 5-7 years behind European trends…

  30. diazrigau Interian on January 6, 2022 at 2:47 pm

Green is the color of death. Every single horror movie have green on the walls, pay attention, it’s obvious, I’m a producer, I know.

  31. Mlopez.12 on January 6, 2022 at 2:48 pm

Darn it. I put in some dark tile in my hall and spare bedrooms.🤦🏽‍♀️

  34. Atira Muhaimin on January 6, 2022 at 2:50 pm

You’re ideas are so great. I have very old wall . I don’t have much money . What can I do to cover the old uneven and textured paint / panels

  35. phangirlable on January 6, 2022 at 2:51 pm

Thank goodness, I’m glad those styles are coming back. The cookie cutter mid century modern styles were getting really boring.

  36. Kristen McGowan on January 6, 2022 at 2:51 pm

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE💗I hope you had an amazing holiday season! I can’t wait to share some amazing projects together this year!! Let me know which design trend is your favourite for 2022!!

  37. SkyeEmber on January 6, 2022 at 2:52 pm

I have always loved the light wood floors and would certainly pick those if I were doing a kitchen or floor makeover! They’re beautiful!

  38. Kristine Simon on January 6, 2022 at 2:52 pm

I enjoy seeing the new tends however changing furniture and cabinets (or even painting them) every 5 years is so costly. It’s nothing to change wall colors. I stick with classic looks and change up paint and decor over time. I’ve had gold since we built in 2003. It’s back in style 😁. It just looks better on solid oak.

  39. Starla Sewell on January 6, 2022 at 2:52 pm

One of the trends I would definitely use in my own home would have to be the more beige-y cabinets and I just painted my kid’s bathroom vanity the green color, looks great 👍

  40. ESIGN on January 6, 2022 at 2:53 pm

Picture frame molding give such an amazing glamour to the house, we love it

  41. Thomas Lacy on January 6, 2022 at 2:53 pm

As a man im so glad my favorite color is on trend!! Woooo lolol

  42. Kuldeep Singh Masuta on January 6, 2022 at 2:53 pm

    Excellent topic 👍🌹

  43. Heather Siglos on January 6, 2022 at 2:53 pm

I’m LOVING your style and videos!!!

  44. A R on January 6, 2022 at 2:54 pm

Woo for traditional! I never left it lol. Planning our new build at the moment and it has lots of picture frame moulding, far more detailed all over than the houses I see others build. I’ve never liked open pan so I’ve done a semi closed plan using walls as barriers, our dining space is open to the kitchen one of the living rooms but will have pocket glass French doors so it can feel closed off or open. Here in Australia a butlers kitchen is the go to for most houses now (a second kitchen to the back or side of main kitchen), but I’m having a bigger main kitchen than is on trend here and a smaller butlers

  45. MT M on January 6, 2022 at 2:57 pm

I’ve had rooms in my home painted sage but I thought sage green fazed out.

  46. Chetna Bhardwaj on January 6, 2022 at 3:01 pm

HNY Kristen…. I have just started following you and loved all your videos that I saw.
I have a large living room with two story walls , there is one two story blank wall which needs help… if you could suggest something dramatic and bold for that wall. Like slat wall with lights or something. Thanks for helping in advance.

  47. Louie Tzepher on January 6, 2022 at 3:01 pm

Why in the world wold anyone follow a "trend"? Why does people need others to tell them how to think or what to like? It’s so interesting how wealthy people think vs other folks.

  48. Charloette Lay on January 6, 2022 at 3:01 pm

I have been wanting to repaint my front door, I think I found the perfect color! Thank you for showing your door.

  49. Laura Dawson on January 6, 2022 at 3:01 pm

Flooring in bedrooms?? What is best? And real wood, laminate, carpet? I really need more flooring advice.
