Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel! In this week’s video, I’ll be giving you all you need to know about what to expect in design trends of 2021! First, it’s time for you all to know what is considered “the new black”––the naval color trend! This will be key to designing elevated, contemporary spaces, right alongside light woods and sustainable pieces. Lightwoods, inspired by Scandinavian styles, will be used frequently indoors as a highlight or accent features, while sustainable pieces made from reusable or recycled materials will also be making their way into your homes this year! Statement pieces will also be a huge part of 2021 trends, as bold furniture, accessories, and art will be used to add a touch of luxury to your spaces. In the same vein as our light wood and sustainable trends, natural elements will also be a huge part of this year, as more and more individuals will be focusing on ways to bring nature into their homes through a wide range of organic elements. Next, we have the trend of limestone interiors, which will be a revival of a classic style, as well as the juxtaposition trend. After the rise of limestone interiors and juxtaposition comes the face line art trend, derived from the styles of Matisse, and making its way over from being a popular internet trend to becoming an increasingly growing home decor trend. Lastly, we have the industrial style trend, as well as a shift in fabrics! Industrial style will take many homes by storm this year as we’ve had to adjust to a work-from-home lifestyle––this trend will be mainly used for multi-purpose environments, as well as a contemporary styling technique for hybrid homes. The large shift in fabrics, however, will show itself mainly outside of the home in outdoor furniture as we switch from dark heavy fabrics to white, perennial linens that are easy to clean. I hope you enjoyed hearing about these trends so that you can spot them quickly and maybe even hop on board! Thanks for tuning into my channel, and don’t forget to check in next week for a brand new video!

Trends, by their very nature, are in opposition to sustainability in most instances. We need classicism to be our mantra. Like what you have and treasure it. Having said that, here I am, tuning in. 🤷🏼♀️
