Ok, so tired of trends that are not reasonable which is most of these. My trend, a kitchen with tons of counterspace clean uncluttered counters, a gas stove, proper lighting and seating. A lamp with a cloth shade is just ridiculous. How do you clean grease off that?.

In a year I’ll be moving from a big two story house to a tiny home and even though I don’t have much, I know I’ll have to down size my space. I don’t know anything about designing and watching your videos is giving me some ideas on how I might want my new home to look like. All my life my design has been movie posters, DVDs, Blu Rays, figures and books. My space still looks like a teenager lives here and in my new home I want to make it look like a grown up lives there, not a teenager. Your tips on everything is really helpful and I love them all.
I want to like the 3 toned kitchens because I love the 2 toned ones, but it just looks disjointed to me.
I think you need to make a timeless kitchen video because I didn’t like any of these lol
Though the video is fun to watch, definitely not all trends caught my eye. But most of all it seems, that a lot of kitchens are hardly ever used. For certain tiles are quite impossible to clean, and certain woods as well. One would have a terrible time cleaning lamps near the stove. And open shelving keeps on getting greasy. At least in a kitchen that’s been properly used.
So if you eat out and get deliveries most of the time: pick and choose. But if you actually plan on cooking in your kitchen – such a novel idea – you might want to tread wisely.
You have great ideas I enjoyed your video. I just had a new kitchen done and am so happy with it and I chose the old tiles that add dimension and texture too and they look great. I’m glad it’s on trend.

I didn’t like having only 1 focal point in the kitchen, specifically signature pendant lights or signature exhaust hood. I want both and don’t see a problem with it.
These kitchens are big and beautiful, what about small kitchens, like galley kitchens? I downgraded to a townhouse and my kitchen is small with limited counterspace and cabinets. How do we design small kitchen spaces in 2021?
Who can afford to be “on trend?” Timeless is the way to go.

3 tone is a bit too busy for most kitchens. However, people with big kitchens, they may be able to get away it

I have a small kitchen. I don’t have any extra counter space for lamps. I do not want cabinets on top of my counters. I rather have the regular cabinets. I do not want open shelving. My pots and pans are old. I like the flat tiles. I am not into trends. I am only half way through this video. I think I am done this video.

I avoid trends when it comes to higher dollar items. Trends are coming and going so quickly nowadays. I prefer to pick a few trendy accessories to mix in with my timeless pieces. Years ago I followed trends closely, but it became so expensive trying to keep up. I’ve learned it’s best to go with a design style that you love and are happy living with. I prefer changing my decor accessories to keep my home looking fresh and up to date, but that’s just me.
I think lamps in the kitchen look dumb. Sorry.

I just subscribed your so sweet ..love all your advise and suggestions…and your voice is so lovely..i can hear you all day..found you today binge watching all your videos..already making changes in my house.
We redid our kitchen last summer and I think the only thing we have that you mentioned is mixed metals. We have brass on the lamps, a kind of an antique brass / bronze on our hardware and steel faucet / sink and microwave. Apart from that we have all black cabinets, hexagon marble tile backsplash, wood countertops and white walls. We’re adding some wood shelves too for some open shelving which I can’t wait to style! In a future kitchen though I would love to have marble countertops with matching backsplash, I just love that style, but it’s so darn expensive lol. Also, I would love to add an arched doorway somewhere in our house, they are so gorgeous!
I’ve had a lamp on my kitchen counter top as a night light since 2016 lol
