I am ecstatic greys are out! It feels too cold to me. Building a house and watching all your videos,

  2. Robin W on January 6, 2021 at 1:05 am

Thank you for all the info! I’m in the process of building 2 houses (a carriage house to live in on the land while our house sales and the new one built) and I’m soaking up your great advice!

What are your thoughts on enhancing a colored toilet/sink/tub? We have a bathroom with a blue tub/toilet as well as a bathroom with a mauve sink/toilet without the budget to get all of it replaced; even though, we would love to replace them. For the mauve bathroom I would like to do banana leaf wall paper with gold accents and did all white with gray/silver accents in the blue bathroom.

Thank you again love your videos! I am redoing my cottage kitchen and am leaning to white. I am happy you still recommend this! The trouble with kitchen trends is how often does someone remodel a kitchen?! So would you say white would have the best longevity for maintaining style? Thanks Lisa!!

  5. Laken Chappel on January 6, 2021 at 1:11 am

I’m obessed with your channel now. All your tips are things I have thought but have second guessed myself and I’m redoing my whole house and to hear it from an expert that I’m on the right path is "groovy." Thank for being so helpful and fun.

  6. Joi McKinney on January 6, 2021 at 1:13 am

Love the new trend for TVs! Thank you for sharing this info!

  7. Renata Klepacki on January 6, 2021 at 1:14 am

The LG TV shows as discontinued and the link to Samsung does not link to the TV…

  8. Maggie on January 6, 2021 at 1:15 am

Great info thank you! So funny, in 2016 I bought a townhouse and renovated it with a lot of grey, paint, grey wood look tiles, grey furniture etc. now we’re buying a house and renovating with all warm colors which was the color of a house I had in 2008. Which I never thought I’d like again. So interesting how fast trends come and go!

  9. Jessica Leslie-byrn on January 6, 2021 at 1:16 am

That was sexist..I know plenty of men that cook way more then I do

  10. Lourdes Cintron on January 6, 2021 at 1:16 am

Oh! O’m so over white kitchens! But that dark kitchen… it only deserves a big thumbs down from me! Thank you for bringing all this information to us!

Love love your input on design -please expand one each trend – like color /fabrics and how to tie it all together. Thanx

Love your videos, making me rethink all my rooms. Do you know how the artwork for those TVs is selected? I’m a painter specializing in ocean waves, flower fields and salt marshes. http://www.CaseyArt.com

  14. Bernice Oh on January 6, 2021 at 1:20 am

Will white furnitures turn yellowish after awhile?

  15. Jessica Leslie-byrn on January 6, 2021 at 1:22 am

Farmhouse style can fall outta trend all it wants but to me it will always be the coziest homie trend in existence and you all can keep the crappy modern stupid funny looking cookie cutter fast fashion trends

  16. Elaine Mayorga on January 6, 2021 at 1:23 am

I hate grey!!!! I think it’s so sad and depressing. ESP in areas that are getting gentrified (I’m from the bay) but these old homes are getting gutted and painted grey and white w/ grey carpets. I’m a fan of the light green kitchens, so warm and homey 🙂

  17. Kristina G on January 6, 2021 at 1:26 am

So true. Kitchens should be bright and clean no one want bloody fingers 🩹🩸💡🍴🥂

  18. Shauna Magnusen on January 6, 2021 at 1:27 am

I’m new to your channel and love your content. We’re starting a full bathroom renovation and partial kitchen renovation. I agree with you on the dark kitchens. We have all oak kitchen cabinets with the same color stain on our floors. It makes the entire house feel dark and brown. I painted the walls a much lighter color & changed the lighting to 3500 but it wasn’t enough. We decided to change the countertops to a much lighter hard marble and now I’m thinking a tuxedo kitchen would be nice to paint the upper cabinets white but leave the lower cabinets with the wood stain. Painted cabinets on the bottom are not an option since we have kids, animals, we cook, etc (they hide wear & tear 😉). I would love to hear your thoughts on tuxedo kitchens and kitchens in general.

  19. SammyJo CatLady on January 6, 2021 at 1:27 am

I watch makeover shows. If you have wood cabinets they take them out and make them white to
"brighten" the space. If you have white cabinets, they put up wood to "warm" the space. Sheesh. And now you paint your lower cabinets a different color than the uppers. And open shelving? Isn’t there ENOUGH stuff to dust?

  20. Fun Mills on January 6, 2021 at 1:27 am

    Love the advice. Great spirit!

  21. fran johnson on January 6, 2021 at 1:28 am

What about the marble counter tops are they still going strong?

  22. Piddeaux on January 6, 2021 at 1:29 am

Forget wallpaper! I’ve watched too many people on HGTV try to remove the stuff! Not for me!

  23. Jill White on January 6, 2021 at 1:31 am

Yes! I’m so sick of gray! Did my home in shades of gray 15 years ago. Builders haven’t caught on that it’s over.

  24. Raya K on January 6, 2021 at 1:33 am

Hi Lisa! What kind of stain would you tell your cabinet maker to use to achieve that light, warm, with touch of gray, wood tone for the cabinets. Also can it be done nicely with oak rather than maple? I don’t like how polished the maple tends to look. I like to see a little wood grain for that bit of rustic touch. I’m redoing my own kitchen and I would love this for my lower cabinets and island! Also instead of stark white for the uppers i’d like something in the off white family. Any recommendations for what color would pair well with those wood lowers?

  25. Barbara Rektorik on January 6, 2021 at 1:34 am

I am just loving your channel!

  26. Mary Daniel on January 6, 2021 at 1:37 am

Thank you for your insightful sharing. I am enjoying the videos. I am currently painting above the white kitchen counters and below the oak cabinets a spa feeling green that is calm and harmonious. The background does make a big difference. Your painting video was a five star one.

  27. cara westgate on January 6, 2021 at 1:38 am

I have never liked grey but I have cherry cupboards that I cant change so I felt obligated to choose grey flooring (id call my floors a French grey). I currently have very light blue-white walls and a pink beige that pulls from the flooring. I would love to paint all of my walls to a warm white but I’m not sure if its work with the cherry and grey.

  28. Keith Sabourin on January 6, 2021 at 1:40 am

Finally design information that’s clear and specific. I love the way you explain the pros and cons of putting items in your rooms i.e. how to properly measure an area rug. I recently bought a small modular home and am having many issues defining spaces because you can see everything from each room. Particularly the living room and kitchen is essentially one room right now. So anytime you can show advice for really really small spaces that would make one lady (me) a little less stressed.

  29. deftauntie on January 6, 2021 at 1:40 am

Wow Samsung and LG are stepping up 😮🤩🥰

  30. Sandra Croghan on January 6, 2021 at 1:43 am

Hi Lisa…I watch all of your videos simply because I love your energy! I am actually a Charles Faudree kind of gal. So happy to hear gray is on its way out…I am so over it! Oh for heavens sake, where has color gone? I Look forward to all your videos!

What’s your go to floor color for a small one bedroom condo on the water with pretty good natural light ?

  33. lynnettelg on January 6, 2021 at 1:47 am

Great video! The TV aspect perked me up since it’s such a big item in most rooms. I’m not buying new TVs and they will remain big for our lifestyle so I’m wondering if you’d do a video on other ways to address them. They are also on a lot so things that hide them away don’t help. I was just about to move the LR one over the fireplace since I was having an issue with the 2 focal spots in a small space. But I saw your video about that and I sat down and looked up where it would be if I moved it. So right!!! I don’t want to crane my neck like that to watch TV!!! The only thing I could think of if I did move it there was to get recliners to tilt back to see that high. LOL So…now what?!

  34. Dakota Hales on January 6, 2021 at 1:48 am

Hello! I’ll be painting my kitchen walls and island very soon. I was planning on walls – a light grey and island a grey/brown. But you’re saying grey is out? Is it a personal statement or an industry statement? I have a semi rustic home. I’d describe it as a Kind of Colorado/French (with unpainted beams, stone surrounds family entry with sandy and grey colors and very high ceilings. We have updated our decor with Pottery Barn York slope arm deep seated sofa & ottoman. What color should I paint the kitchen walls and island to appear updated? Thank you for your informative videos:)

  35. Kristine Wells on January 6, 2021 at 1:49 am

Updating my olive green kitchen to maybe a soft green like you showed. But will it be enough impact with medium tone wood cabinetry?

  36. T W on January 6, 2021 at 1:49 am

What do you think of covering all the walls with a simple textured wallpaper in a formal dining room (light color) and put a different wallpaper with a design / pattern in a big border / moulding frame on one big empty wall (vaulted ceiling 13 ft tall at that wall). I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. I’m a fellow subscriber, I recently found your channel and have binge watched (I think I watched them allllll), I love your personality and your videos, they’re a joy to watch and I am learning SO much!

I just picked a gray wood tile floor for my home and i love it !!! I dont care about the trend i think everyone can pull off the looks better than others. I am not very a fan of brown floors but will keep an eye on my other choices

  38. C R on January 6, 2021 at 1:50 am

Hi! love your videos, thank you. I am in the process of a whole first floor reno. My new kitchen will finally be white, Ive had honey oak and blue laminate counters since we bought the house in 2004, the kitchen was brand new and obviously it was factored in the purchase price, I always hated it, but when with the farmhouse theme when it was the french country style (roosters etc) My issue is choosing my flooring. We are going with LVP because we are on a concrete slab, I have real hardwood on my second floor and love the versatility of the look, it literally can go with any decor style. I didnt want the grey look as I know its a trend and its too cold for me, we are doing white walls to keep our space bright, big and the rooms to all connect and want the flooring to be a warm base. I did find a similar LVP in the natural oak, but was unsure and they flooring store had no samples to bring home. We found a wide plank long board in a neutral oak (similar to what you showed on this video) thats a little more rustic or could be beachy?. I really like it and feel it will go with the decor I want to do, BUT I keep thinking going with the neutral oak will go with anything and appeal to all buyers ( we plan on selling in 3-4 years) The rustic flooring cant host traditional furniture imo. So Im torn on what to do. I cant find any videos of this dilemma, and my husband is about to kill me on this. If it were up to him, he would have went with a more grey or taupe color : ( My gut says to go with the natural oak look, bit the other one is so pretty. Thank you for any input, sorry for the novel.

I love your videos. You are so down to earth & you have such great design ideas. I’m currently renovating my home completely in San Antonio, Tx. Dry wall is going up this week. We have replaced the windows with Andersen dual tone, white interior & black exterior. Our lighting is 6000k throughout. I need help with flooring. I’m in between Pergo flooring throughout the house or tile. Any suggestions on the color? I would like the light wood color, but still undecided.

  41. Jamie Chui on January 6, 2021 at 1:54 am

I love your personal comments on what you like and dislike about the trend, especially on the super dark kitchen.

  42. Danielle Scarfe on January 6, 2021 at 1:55 am

In process of trying to figure out whether to put TV in a corner next to a fireplace OR on the mantle. We are considering the Samsung Easel or the LG Galary as options if we went with the over the mantel idea. Is that a solution you would recommend? I hate over the mantle with a regular TV (think it is too high and kind ugly) and next to the mantle in a corner seems odd to me as well. However, need to put a TV in this room. The room is a rectangle with limited places to put the TV – the mantle is right in the middle. Can you provide some ideas on where to put the TV – as in what would you recommend to a client! Struggling on what to do.
