When designing a self-build campervan, one of the biggest questions is whether you should have a toilet, or even a full bathroom, and if so, which option is going to best suit your needs and budget. This film looks at five good options for putting a toilet in your campervan, starting with the under $10 option and finishing with a toilet that looks like it would be better suited on a spaceship!

How do you dump no 1 with those composting toilets? You carry the pee tub into a public washroom and pour it out that way?? Won’t people looking at you think it’s weird? Like, would you go into a Walmart or McDonald’s with a pee tub of you are in the city? It’s not a little bottle that someone could mistake for Apple juice and ignore you for, the thing is like a jug and it’s obvious what it is

where i can find toilet show on 09:50 ??? on web

  3. L Smith on December 30, 2021 at 1:39 pm

Those composting toilets aren’t composting are they? Bags of number 2s that are dumped onto the normal bin system is totally gross.

  4. Teney on December 30, 2021 at 1:40 pm

We put our toilet on the top of the van. No worries about its unsightly presence inside, although i do miss the privacy.

It’s not a composting toilet in a RV.

It’s a liquid separating dehydration toilet.

Love ours. Perfect for a RV. Awesome for winter.

You should check out fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

The biggest limitation to or challenge of #vanlife is the necessity to depend on public toilets.

DIY my old homeless friend, invested $30.00 dollars at a muffler shop, had a 4" wide diameter hole, burned in one side of his van for a bathroom, used a motor cycle tire, or a 3 gallon bucket, with bottom cut out, shi – in the 4 " wide hole, in any parking lot, if ever in down town Mobile Alabama, ? Step in human Tootsie Roll, ? it stands tall, after it falls approximately 34" inches, he wipes with a black wash rag, as people will notice white toilet paper, so watch your step, . he gets stoned, is constipated, he claims to shit one 14" long, cranks up, and moves some place else, feeds the flies, feeds, rats, but sugar free Tootsie Roll. 9 – 6 -21 Welcome to the Jungle. !

A black water tank is "weird", but churning your shit into a pile of coconut shells is cool after having spent thousands and thousands of dollars fancying up a van… Got it.

I have a standard RV toilet in my van and it goes straight down into a RV tote tank. I can’t use it without setting it up but I only use it at RV campgrounds.

  14. Gazmeister Wongatron on December 30, 2021 at 1:55 pm

Do the toilets in the bathroom always have to be removed before taking a shower, or can you shower over them if there is enough space to do so?

  15. Trolling 4Ass on December 30, 2021 at 1:58 pm

get (2) $10 buckets from Home Depot, (10)100 black garbagebags lg heavy duty pack $20 ea Home Depot, fill one bucket w/ sand for free @ a beach or park, fit the other bucket w/ a trash bag liner – releave yourself in the bucket fitted w/ the trash liner & cover the waste w/ sand to deter odors & prevent rodents & flies until you r able to properly dispose of garbage , clean yourself using plastic gloves & body wet wipes – for urine just use an empty 2gallon Poland spring container & mind what & how much you eat & drink to avoid upsetting your stomach (small portions) – this advice is for single men , u don’t need fancy , fancy cost money that you can use for emergencies or life threatening situations, keep life simple & non-complicated who cares what ppl say or think because they aren’t going to pay your way into a good time or out of bad times

Good visual OVERVIEW of the subject, ut what would be more helpful is an analysis video that classifies the different solutions by type, including pros cons and expenses of each.

  19. paulwid85 on December 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm

I miss the incinerating toilet here, but it may be the most complicated and expensive solution.

  20. andy b on December 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm

Urine diverting all the way. I built one and tried it at home first because I was sceptical. After filling it, let it sit for two weeks – no smell. It is even possible to get lavender scented wood shavings from pet stores. Everyone knows chemical toilets are horrible to empty and clean, plus they tie you to campsites. Natures heads are silly money.

  21. Wojciech Zaleski on December 30, 2021 at 2:02 pm

what about incineration toilets? They are probably the best for this kind of living.

  22. Professional298 on December 30, 2021 at 2:06 pm

Why is every search result for a van with a toilet come back with camper vans!? Im just trying to take a dump on my lunch break

  23. Maria Antoniou on December 30, 2021 at 2:06 pm

  26. Jonnie S on December 30, 2021 at 2:11 pm

When I was hiking in wilderness areas I always did what the bears and moose do. I didn’t carry a shovel and dig a hole. I just did my business and went on. Simple and practical, no toilet paper. If there was an established trail I always tried to get at least a hundred feet or more away from the trail.

  27. rina m on December 30, 2021 at 2:12 pm

As a trucker with 2.1 million safe miles I use a bucket with a Walmart toilet seat that snaps on, I crap and pee in a garbage bag and toss it in the trash at the truck stop. DO NOT USE DOLLAR TREE GARBAGE BAGS! LOL

I was told be by park ranger to be 100 meters away from any water. Or the length of a official. Football field away from water.
That also goes for brushing teeth, washing dishes, and out door showers.

We must be the only ones with a regular flushing toilet and black tank in our van (self-built Sprinter 170). I don’t understand why more don’t do it. We simply flush, just like a regular toilet. Dump stations are in every town and most campgrounds (in the US) and it’s easy to hook up a hose and open a valve. Our black tank holds 14 gallons and it lasts a week, or more if we also use other bathrooms when convenient. And there’s zero smell. It’s such a great option, tons cheaper than a composting toilet, but nobody else does it. I don’t get it.

  44. Charlie Rob on December 30, 2021 at 2:31 pm

What do people do with the used toilet paper? Can you put it in the toilet?
